Re: Donna Vekic

I love how she's doing this review! I just love in general how interactive she is with social media, really cool.

And yes, I absolutely loved her Roland Garros outfit! I remember saying it at the time during the tournament how much I liked it, so I'm glad she has the same opinion

You really think a PR agency would hire people with such bad English skills? This is someone from the inner circle, like a brother or someone similar. Her own English is way better than this, so it's clear that she has someone who just translates what she says (or makes things up, upon order "from above").

Re: Donna Vekic

It's interesting to follow these last challengers to see if anyone can get ahead of Donna in rankings.
I hope she ends up high enough for AO MD.
Pliskova sisters are close and with good showing in Dubai they will overtake her.

Re: Donna Vekic

i wouldn't mind her playing qualies--it's extra matches, but it won't count as an additional tournament towards her age restriction

ugh, why do they all suck????????

If that's the case it wouldn't be a tragedy indeed.

P. S. I couldn't help but think these days what could've been if Donna had won Tashkent - she'd also qualify for Sofia and get an extra opportunity for pretty nice points. What a shame. Hope she wins one of these (Internationals) next year.

Re: Donna Vekic

How would she have qualified for Sofia? Isn't it the six highest ranked players who have won an WTA International event? Yeah, it definitely sucks that she lost the Tashkent final but she'll have more opportunities to win her first WTA title. I doubt it'll come next year though, but I'd love to be wrong. By the way Azarenka lost the final in Tashkent before she won her first WTA title, so hopefully that's a good sign for Donna's future.

Qualifying for the Australian Open would be good because if she's playing well it's a fairly easy 60 points, then if she loses first round of the maindraw it's not so bad. It's still pretty unclear what she's going to be playing, either she's just going to scrape into the maindraw or just miss out.

You're right, I wasn't paying attention to rules that have changed over time - I remember that Date-Krumm qualified by winning an IS event in '09 and she certainly wasn't ranked very high at the time. Anyway, thanks for a clarification
