Donna lost 6 games in a row to lose the first set. Needs to get going again quickly!

Re: Donna Vekic

Donna fights against herself and opponent.
She needs to findconsistency, again good start but she really has to consolidate break or it won't mean anything.
Already 0-30 though

Re: Donna Vekic

Takes a 2-0 lead again at the start of the 2nd set.

Let's hope the rest of the set doesn't follow the same pattern!

Re: Donna Vekic

Donna lost 6-2 6-4 after being up *2-0 in the first set and 4-1* in the second She was injured quite badly with strapping on her right arm and looked like she was holding back tears I only saw the last couple of games but she was making a lot of errors and her shots didn't have much power on them.

To be fair Tanasugarn seemed to have similar strapping on her arm so I guess she wasn't 100% either

Anyway, I guess that's the end of a great season Not Top 100 like we hoped but very close, and almost definitely Australian Open maindraw Top 100 will come early next year, for sure.

Re: Donna Vekic

Really hope it's not a serious injury, everything else is of lesser importance at the moment. She was injury-free so far and they should make sure it stays the same for as long as possible.

As for the match, can't say I'm shocked. I saw Tamy as a high hurdle for Donna from the start, not just because she's experienced, but because of the type of experience in question - top 20 experience. Add to that the fact that Tamy loves fast courts and that she was always dangerous in tournaments like Wimbledon, and you've got yourself a problem.

Donna will definately learn from this, which is good, and I also think that she should be safely through to the AO MD, because that's the one slam where many players fail to show up for various reasons, so the cut-off is usually lower than in the other three. Now take some rest kid, heal the wounds and do a good job preparing for 2013

Re: Donna Vekic

Disappointing loss for me, but I'm more concerned about the injury now Doesn't sound like just an alibi. Perhaps she shouldn't have continued the match

lost my quarter final to Tamarine Tanasugarn, THA, (2-6, 4-6), it was my last match of the 2012 season. I really want to thank all the fans for your great support during the week, especially from so many young children in India. Together we all have a dream!
