BTW can someone explain me double "n" in her name?
It's not really usual for Croats.

Ah people give all kinds of names these days.
I know people who named their children Marlon and Tristan and they are also Croats.
The more unusual the better it seems.
I think same case is with Donna.

Donna is an Italian word meaning "lady." It's a common woman's name in the US (think Donna Summer) but I don't think it's used as a name in Italy.

Re: Donna Vekic

So let me get this straight: the past four weeks, Donna went from Europe (London, week of Oct. 1) to East Asia (Suzhou, Oct. 8), back to Europe (Osijek, Oct. 15), then will go back to East Asia next week for Seoul $25K

It makes her trip to Brazil in July seem ordinary.

Re: Donna Vekic

I don't know this for sure, but I think that Donna also has some family in the UK, so that might explain the name. Once she posted a photo of herself with her cousin in London and I think the cousin's name was Jessica or something similar, so there might be something to it.

Oops I didn't mean it was an Italian name, I meant the origin of the word was Italian.

From wikipedia:
Quote:
Donna is an English language feminine first name meaning lady in Italian. The original meaning is closer to lady of the home and was a title of respect, equivalent to Don for men.
And another possible origin which I'd never heard of before:

Quote:
It is the modern feminine form of “Donald” meaning “world ruler,” which has Gaelic origins.

Re: Donna Vekic

This is a wonderful Folk Song - I learned it in Girl Scouts of Texas - sing it almost every day!
Dona (Donna) means: GOD....this is one of the comentary from you tube

Maybe Donna's parents liked this beautiful song.
Donna means Lord here (God).
