Lindsay and the Quest for Greatness

Well, I've been on holiday for two and a bit weeks, come back and Lindsay has won not one, not two but three tournaments. Bloody hell. I managed to watch the odd set or two shown on Eurosport's excellent ( NOT ) coverage. Does the WTA get good coverage on TV anywhere? The games I have seen her play, the semi's and finals, have been awesome. The only player to trouble her has been a fired up Venus who still was not quite good enough and I thought the best player won in the end. At this moment Lindsay is the best women's tennis player in the world bar none as she was 5 or 6 years ago. Barring injuries and possibly her parents divorce she may well have dominated for the last 7 years. Although it's probably fair to say that Martina Hingis and Monica Seles have been dealt crueller hands. Lindsay is capable of achieving greatness by postponing thoughts of retirement and targeting the Grand Slams, bar the French which she obviously hates, the other three are there to be won with the right preparation and the attitude she has shown this week. If she can dominate for the next year she will deserve to be ranked with the all time greats as without any doubt women's tennis is at last getting truly competitive.

I saw her 6 times too. Sometimes, british eurosport is crappy, but sometimes, it's excellent!!! I could see the 1/4, the 1/2 and the final of San Diego!!! And the other finals of course!!!!!!!!

Proud to be your fan Lindsay

Seriously now, I think they have showed more Lindsay matches on Eurosport this year than ANY other player, lol.

I saw her 4th round and QF in australia, semi and final in Tokyo
Almost all bar like 1 of her matches in IW
Semi and Final of Amelia Island
All her wimbledon matches (ok, they were in the BBC)
6 of her matches the last 3 weeks :P (oh, maybe 7, coz i saw her QF this week against Ai)

Women's tennis sucks.
~

Go Rafa.
