Do any fellow fans think Linds is still missing something on court?

I watched Lindsay in her match against Justine yesterday and what keeps bugging me is the fact that I still think that regardless of how well Justine played, Lindsay should have won the match.

For those that know me around here, you know I am a big Lindsay fan. But I am still frustrated by the fact she is not winning the big matches.

The one thing I think Lindsay may still be lacking on court is that her groundstrokes don't seem to be overwhelmingly lethal as they used to be.

It still gets me that Gisela Dulko lost to Linds 6-3,6-2 and yet she still managed 18 winners. I don't think Lindsay has never won a match by that scoreline with her opponent hitting that many winners.

Even against Justine, her groundstrokes did not always seem very penetrative in many key points. I mean as well as people think Linds is playing, she should have been blowing Justine off the court the whole match and not in just flashed of brilliance.

Perhaps I am being too hard on her. After all this the most positive we have seen Lindsay in awhile. Granted that, I still want to see Lindsay win a lot more titles before she retires and I still think she has got the game to beat the best.

Its hard to admit it, but Lindsay groundstroke for me is not the way it used to be when she was winning slams. I think this is all because of her confidence level. She is playing too safe with her groundies. I miss a dominant Lindsay!!!!

Well, I admit it. To me, Lindsay is still one of the best player, but she isn't the n°1, and she isn't confident anymore when she plays against Justine or Kim, she is afraid of loosing!!! But I'm as you know, I'm a fan of Lindsay and I think she can beat everybody whenever she want!!!!

Lindsay is amazing girl and great champion, I miss her service and shots from 1999 and 2000 season.

I don't think she has "lost" her big groundies, but when she plays the big players, she seems to play scared or nervous and it seems like she's not hitting them as hard. Which is totally understandable, she works hard to get to a big match and then doesn't want to take big risks - there's so much pressure in every shot she hits. But I also believe that her serve is coming back; the last few years I felt that she wasn't hitting it as hard as she was in say 98-00, but all throughout Indian Wells she served really well. I'm not saying that just because she hit 10 aces against Dechy, but she also served well against Justine in the final. Her 2nd serves are short sometimes, but I'm really happy that her serve is coming back, because as she says, if she has less pressure on her serve then she has less pressure on her groundstrokes.

GO LINDSAY!

She serve was actually gone until this year. Now it is beginning a comeback.

Lindsay's confidence is coming back and I agree in the big matches say against Kim and Justine she is not playing her groundies as well or as penetrating as in the earlier rounds. I do believe it is a matter of confidence and that she will get it back. I think we just have to stick with her and one of these days she will be holding the trophy and J or K will be holding onto the runners up prize. I enjoyed the tournament and taped all her matches, she just needed to win the final one. Never mind, she will!!

Thumbs up

Thanks Joaco. I really do believe Lindsay is going to have a "surprising" year this 2004. She is being very canny about not playing Miami (followed by Justine too!). I think we wil definitely have more than one title to smile about this seasn=on. Can't wait for next week and Linds playing again.

LETS GO LINDSAY

Well, I saw all of the matches she did at Indian Wells, and I'm very surprised because I think that she doesn't move very well, (compared to the 1/2 at Indian Wells in 2003 for example) and she looks have a problem in her right knee again, at the end of a big point, she rubs her knee and she is bent down over her knee. I think she has lost a lot of confidence, you can see her screaming when she loses a big point (she didn't used to do that before), and she often complains. She isn't as pacient as she used to be!!!!!I think that it's because of her coach, if she was still with Robert, she would have thought she can still be n°1!!!! Now, she admits other girls are better than her, and she isn't focused anymore on being n°1. But I think that Lindsay will win other titles this year, at least one, to be equal to Martina Hingis!!!! And I think that she can beat a top player whenever she wants, all is in her head!!!!!!!!!!
