Timea is a very talented 14 year-old Swiss. You can see a thread that was posted about her on GM http://wtaworld.com/showthread.php?=82153

She's playing in the qualifying of a 10K in London this week. Good Luck!!!

Timi played a great match against a far from best Sabine. She did what she had to do, played some great backhands and serves, good defence as well. I'm actually quite worried for the match against Niculescu. monica's variety could be trouble for Timi. but with monica's serve Timi will always have a chance on return. Allez Timi, lets go!!!

I am just so so so happy for Timi.
Next round Niculescu should not be underestimated but I am optimistic. Go Timea! :hearts:
Sooo proud of you already!!!

way to go Timi! I had to leave after the first set, so I didn't have a good feeling about the outcome, but when i checked the score she was up in the second, so i avoided watching out of superstition, anyone else do that? I'll have to look at some highlights. that first set was very well played by monica though, and timi was a bit impatient an didn't taking her chances. i'm glad she turned it around!

She is in the form of her life. Very confident, mentally strong

Head To Head against Niculescu now 2-4. Muguruza next. Head To Head is 0-1

tough match. i replied to the GM thread, but I'll talk here too. the first set was quite close, Timi didn't take any of her chances and was tight when serving at 5-6. why she elected to return after winning the toss i don't know. her FH was the target of Garbine's attack, and she was rewarded for it. Timi doesn't have the time on grass to ajust to hit her FH as the ball is coming at ehr too fast, especially with Garbine's pace. and her BH wasn't as solid as it could have been.

overall a very good tournament for Timi! especially considering she didn;t play a warm-up tournament before Wimbledon. I'm looking forward to her hard court swing, she has no points to defend until Wuhan and she'll have better draws being a seed in P5 and above tournaments. Rest well Timi, and come back stronger!!

Hello, I've been fortunate to see Timea live at Roland Garros last month and Wimbledon last week and shes gained a fan. She's a fighter on and off the court and she comes across as a lovely intelligent person. Hopefully she can continue her excellent season in the hardcourt season and qualify for the wta finals :)

Welcome:bounce::wavey: Getting to see Timi live, that's a dream! hopefully I can watch her live at the Rogers Cup in Toronto this year. I not only love her style of play, but she just seems like a lovely person, she has her tennis in perspective and realizes that while it is nice to win, it's just a tennis match. She's been through a lot, it's nice that she is experiencing all of this success at this stage in her career, fully deserved. I think WTA finals should be a goal for Timi, but she'll have top enter the right tournaments to do so. so far this year she's played 4 internationals and not a single premier. She also hasn't played that many tournaments, which i think is ideal to be well rested, but if it comes down to it in the fall she may have to play some tournaments back to back to qualify. ideally, she can just play the big events and gain enough points from them, but there are so many players closing in on her. it's pretty much a 10 player race for the last couple spots. it'll be exciting to watch who makes it. Good news is that she is seeded at PM and P5 events, so she can avoid drawing Sharapova in the first round (which she did in Madrid).

All aboard the Timi Train:) Allez Timi:bounce::bounce::worship::cool:

Timea is pretty much my favorite player along with Serena. I love her game. She doesn't have the natural gifts that some players have, power and speed, but she's got brains. Furthermore, she plays an aggressive game, she's no pusher at all, and she uses the whole court to get it done. Too many errors sometimes, like against Muguruza, but that's the price you pay when you have an attacking game.

Aside from that, she comes across as very intelligent and level headed in her interviews. She puts some thought into her answers and in fact can be brutally forthcoming with the press at times. It's refreshing. I think she will continue to be a threat on the WTA and I enjoy seeing a second career from her.

Great pics Phil! Those are pretty good seats for a slam! Must have been great to see Timi play up close on the clay at Roland garros:)

It was a pleasant surprise as it wasn't my intentions of going to see her matches. I wasn't aware of her form going into the match against Kvitova so it was a surprise for me seeing her win. That was my most enjoyable match of hers imo. She was too good against Van Uytvanck and it was a tad disappointing that she couldnt beat Serena from the position she was in. I was at the very back row for the match against Kvitova but the view was still very good as I only had the steps in front of me. Also, the Suzanne Lenglen looks much bigger on tv. I also saw Murray, Nadal and Muguruza on that 4th round day for 54 quid, 10 hours of tennis which is probably the best value I've ever gotten at a grand slam.
