Now we have 5 players (Oprandi, Bacsinszky, Vögele, Sadikovic, Perrin) with Top 120 Level. (or at least Top 150).
Oprandi played a good Australian Open,
she won the 1st set against Goerges in her 3rd round match with great display (nice drop shots and forehands, good tactical level) but then in the 2nd and 3rd set she was probably injured or tired... (or both)
She was Swiss as a junior and has both passports (her father is Italian). She felt she didn't have enough support here so she started playing for Italy but she didn't receive that support there either. So she's back here and finally well-treated.
i think 40-60 for Begu.
Oprandi is probably the better player on grass with more tricks and dropshots and tactical varieties but Begu is in better form.
The interesting fact: Begu lost to Schiavone after 8 match points and 6-0 lead in the 3rd set tie break in s Hertogenbosch this week.
But Romina only played two matches (on clay: 2 sets against Govortsova, on grass: three sets against Clijsters) the last 10 weeks.
