After 2 near misses in the playoffs, will it be 3rd time lucky for our girls in the Fed Cup this year?

Probably not, but let's support them anyway. :cheer:

Great Britain this year are Johanna Konta, Heather Watson, Tara Moore & Jocelyn Rae. No Laura :awww:

Wednesday, 5th February
15:00: Great Britain vs Latvia
Diana Marcinkevica, Jelena Ostapenko, Laura Gulbe, Darta-Elizabete Emulina

This should be an easy win. Their no. 2 is ranked 705.

Friday, 7th February
15.00: Great Britain vs Romania
Simona Halep, Sorana Cirstea, Monica Niculescu, Irina-Camelia Begu

:help: The worst possible draw.

Saturday, 8th February
15:00: Great Britain vs Hungary
Timea Babos, Reka-Luca Jani, Melinda Czink, Agnes Bukta

Hungary will have the home crowd, but GB will still be slight favourites here. May well come down to the doubles.

Go GB :bounce:

Very tough with Romania and the home favourites Hungary in their group.

Missing Laura, and also missing the experience that Anne and Bally brought to the team. I'd actually be satisfied if they just manage not to screw up and lose to Latvia! Any better than that is a bonus.

Oh well, nothing that wasn't expected. Impressive win for Heather today, she seems to be back on track this season. It was always going to be a long shot in the other 2 matches.

They play Hungary tomorrow for 2nd/3rd in the group. It would be a good time to give Tara Moore a tryout.

Gah. Another easy win for Hev against Jani, but then Konta got the first set v Bobos, went up 5-1 in the second set tiebreak, and promptly lost the next 6 points and the third set.

So it comes down to the doubles again.

Still, I'm pleased to see that Hev seems to be continuing to play well this season.

2 wins and 2 losses.

Even with Laura the Romania match would've been difficult. They could've done with Bally or Anne still being around to play the doubles as well. I can't see Rae making the team again after going 0-3.

Great week for Hev though. We need to get her and Laura both fit next year. With Joko and Tara as backup then that may be the team that finally gets us out of Group I.
