someone mentioned her playing for GB when she is 18.....she was 18 in may and still nothing:confused:

i wonder if all the hype was for nothing :sad:

I think she has applied for GB citizenship, but the WTA recognizes her still as playing for OZ

The WTA still list Groth as SVK and Rodionova as RUS, yet Shvedova and Karatantcheva are lised as KAZ even though their citizenship change was more recent :lol: So all very confusing.

Where is Johanna these days anyway? Not heard much from her since her win in Canada a few months ago.

I believe she has to wait for some reason, I cant remember exactly but I read something like she needs to have lived here for longer than she has. Not sure, but she trains in the UK and I believe becoming British is still her plan. I havent read any evidence to suggest otherwise, I guess we should just wait and see :)

I read:

Applicants who are not married to (or a civil partner of) a British Citizen must:
* Have been in the UK for 5 years. The last year of that having been as a permanent resident with ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK).
* Not have been absent for more than 450 days in that period.
* Not have been absent for more than 90 days in the 12 months before application.
* Be of good character.
* Pass the Life in the UK test.
* Have sufficient knowledge of English, Welsh or Gaelic.
* Have an intention to live in the UK.

UK Visa Bureau - British Citizenship and Naturalisation - UK Citizenship Requirements

I also read:

If you are making an application for British citizenship you must be of sound mind.

I assume that Johanna Konta is of good character, of sound mind, and has a sufficient knowledge of English!
