Thanks1 I just wanted to wait till the tournaments were closer before I put down any qualies. I'm hoping to be more on top of these in 2009.

It is frustrating though that there are no quali lists....so harder to see who is playing these WTA events until a day or two before the qualies begin.

January 12th - 18th

Sydney- Melanie South (q)

Hobart- Anne Keothavong

Petrova hasn't pulled out yet and I read in the Hobart thread that if Sania didn't get a MDWC for Hobart, her first event of the year will be in Pattaya, after the Open - if this means that she won't be playing the Open, it's another name to add to the list of possible withdrawals

From the lists I've seen Anne is ot on the Paris list, no quali list so hard to tell about Katie, but she is on the list for Sutton, so probably not.

No, there's no Brits on the Paris list (MD or qualifying) which is the same story every year (disappointing really, as the qualifying isn't that difficult to get into, with the Fed Cup always causing a lot of withdrawals). I wonder if Sarah & Courtney might enter the doubles.
Can't understand Elena going for that $25k in Stockholm, seems a bit unambitious to me!

I think she was on list before Aussie Open, and didn't think she would be going as far as she did. It will be a good warm up for her till she hits some of the WTA events.

I cant wait for some good results! I agree about Elena, 25ks are a waste of time for a player of her ability, I want more points

Nice to see Emily is pushing herself. Thats her first tourny of the year though so might have been wise to start a bit lower :p
