Re: Eleanor Dean

Next week should be interesting. It's hard to gauge how she should do seeing as she hasn't even played an ITF junior event but it's still really exciting.

Re: Eleanor Dean

I was just wondering, has anyone seen her play? I know she's a tall girl for her age so I'm guessing she's pretty powerful, but I know she trained alot in Spain, so I was just wondering what type of game she plays.

Re: Eleanor Dean

If Im honest I dont know much about her. I assume if shes tall and young she may suffer movement problems round the court

Re: Eleanor Dean

The qualifying draw is out and Eleanor drew Romanian Patricia Chirea. Honestly I've never heard of her but I looked at her results and Eleanor should be in with a good shot. If she wins that she plays wither Tiffany William or Elisha Gabb for a spot in the main draw. Go Eleanor!

Re: Eleanor Dean

Eleanor won 1 & 4

Have to confess I didn't share *hingis_forever*'s confidence, Chirea has one or two good wins including one on clay over Ejdesgaard. This is a very good result on debut.

Elisha Gabb, who easily disposed of Tiffany William, stands between Eleanor and the main draw.

Re: Eleanor Dean

I don't really know what to expect for Eleanor against Gabb. I think Gabb is a slight favourite.

The match might be over (I was expecting the result when I got notification of your post). Actually, first (men's main draw) match on Eleanor's court went to three and the BBC don't have the result of the second yet, so maybe it is still in progress.

I would have made Eleanor favourite at this venue on this surface.

(BBC results, main draw only: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/resu...718.stm#TENNIS )

You're right about the surface. Eleanor is probably good on clay seeing as she trained in Spain.

Re: Eleanor Dean

Never in doubt.

Eleanor won 3-6 7-6(9) 6-3 and plays Ruth Seaborne in R1, which is also quite hard to call. Think I make Ruth favourite.

Eleanor I think this is the same situation as her match with Gabb. Seaborne is a good player but with clay court resume. I think this is a good draw for Eleanor. Just think, if she wins she plays either Jocelyn Rae or Tara Moore!

I don't mind either way but it would be awesome if Eleanor won.

Would be immensely impressive, yes, but in the long term Tara needs this more. I dont see Eleanor troubling Tara much mind unless her game has really gone down hill!

Hmmm ... I wonder if Tara feels as confident?
