WC for grass court events and wimbledon

Hi

Who do people think the wild card will go to this year at the pre wimbledon events and wimbledon itself ( in previous years it has gone to the rankings) do you this year this will happen?

i think they should go to for brimingham :

Naomi
Georgie
Bally and if there is a forth
Jade windley

I think the top 3 brits need to get some stronger results before being considered (obviously id hope the get throughthe quallies)

Eastbourne

Naomi
Bally and Georgie

now for wimbledon, i think they should support the brits and give them all the wildcard

Naomi
Bally
Gerogie
Mel ( as reward for last years win)
Anne
then id like to see some of the young players jade Windley and Jocelyn Rae be given the big stage.

What are peoples thought

more interesting----

If you could pick there perfect draw who would you put them up against in the first round to give them best chance to win a round, id go for the following:

Castano
Tu
Brianti

and dare i saw they may all want someone like Patty snyder on grass

I think as GB number 1 deserves a WC into all events maybe just quallies on the tour events but she has proven off the last 12 months she is our best player.

Re: WC for grass court events and wimbledon

Birmingham

MD Naomi
MD Georgie
MD Anne
MD Elena (if Gold/Silver WC isn't used)

Q Elena (if she doesn't get MD)
(Q Katie)
(Q Sarah)
(Q Amanda)
(Q Melanie)
If Elena gets MD, and the other 4 make cutoff.
Q Natasha
Q Anna S
Q Anna F
Q Julia B

Eastbourne

MD Elena
MD Amanda

Q Naomi
Q Georgie
(Q Anne)
(Q Katie)
(Q Sarah)
(Q Melanie)
Again if they all make cutoff.
Q Julia B
Q Anna F

Wimbledon

MD Playoff Winner
MD Elena
MD Naomi
MD Georgie
MD Katie
MD Sarah
MD Amanda
MD Foreign

Q Playoff Runner Up
Q Playoff 3rd Place
Q Playoff 4th Place
Q Natasha
Q Anna S
Q Anna F
Q Julia
Q Foreign

Of course there are a couple more months for the others to prove themselves. I think even if Anne is offered a MD WC she should attempt qualifying.

Re: WC for grass court events and wimbledon

I was going to give 2 foreigners WCs into Wimbledon when I realised I'd given Amanda a WC into Eastbourne and it would be a bit unfair.

Cavaday/Cavaday

Were there many mixed wild cards given to Brits last year?

Andy got one with Flipkens, and Claire/Auckland. Don't remember if Jamie got one... I think he may have missed out with Bally having back surgery.

Nick is Naomi's brother. He's at college in the US but I think he comes back to Britain during the Summer.

Re: WC for grass court events and wimbledon

they didnt use all the WCs last season and just offered them to the next highest ranked pair who wanted to play - its crazy! Players are so short of cash and playing the mixed would be an extra cash bonus.

I would like to see Amanda and Jamie play together

I wonder if Andy will play mixed this season? I doubt it but it would be great
