Katie lost to Tiffany 6-1 3-6 6-1

Still I think reaching the QF should continue her steady climb up the rankings...

She's also playing the 25K in Helsinki along with Sarah Borwell and Rebecca Llewellyn from 15th-21st August

Now that her Vancouver points have been added she's only 0.5 points behind Amanda Janes and the British #3 spot...a good performance at Helsinki will clinch it...

Career high now at 276 is it?

Hope she can end the year top 250. Higher would be great!

Katie is the number 3 seed at the $25K in Helsinki and takes on a qualifier in the first round followed by either a WC or another qualifier. In the quarters she would most likely face Valentina Sassi and in the semis probably Nina Bratchikova. I really like her chances to make the final here!

273 she is this week...

I'm hoping for around 220 by the end of the year...that should be enough for Australian Open Qualifying shouldn't it? By my calculations she should need about 65 points from the rest of the year (since she's defending 25 points), which is certainly possible, especially if she can take it a step further in the 25K challengers...

How quickly things change...just a few days ago it was Katie who was my big British hope for 2006, now it's back to Bally again...
