British Doubles Teams

I thought I'd set up a thread about British doubles teams and their progress

There are some pretty decent doubles teams in Britain;

Elena Baltacha/Jane O'Donoghue
Sarah Borwell/Emily Webley-Smith
Danielle Brown/Elizabeth Thomas
Hannah Collin/Anna Hawkins
Claire Peterzan/Hannah Grady

Also some good doubles players without fixed partners;
Amanda Janes
Katie O'Brien
Melanie South (Katie & Mel go well together)
Rebecca Llewellyn
Rebecca Dandeniya

Who else is quite good who I've missed off?

Nice to see Sarah and Emily and Hannah and Anna reaching the final in Bolton. Good luck to both teams in the final, but hopefully Sarah and Emily will win!

since helen's retirement, Hannah and Anna play together alot

Katie and Karen play alot when Mel isn't around

i reckon Amanda and Karen could form a good partnership is Karen gets her rank up, what with both having huge serves!!

What happened to the all conquering team of Sarah Coles and Rebecca Fong. I thought that Sarah might have been benefiting from Fonglet's experience in that team

Maybe now Rebecca will play with someone else. She is a mighty fine net player.

The fruit series is suspended whilst Grachka (obatafan) mourns Saori's retirement.

lol,

2 weeks back they lost to the far superior and already mentioned doubles team of Brown & Thomas (who I would rank as the 3rd or 4th best team in britain)

I would add Claire Peterzan and Hannah Grady, the've have some good wins in the juniors, plus Peterzan and O'Brien defeated Brown and Thomas last week.

And Brown/Thomas lost because of stupid mistakes, and had plenty of opportunities to win that match last week It was a great match to watch

Katie O'brien made the Nurioopta semifinals last week losing in the semis with Madita Suer 06 76 61! Sounds like they should of won but they did well anyway!

Baltacha won her first round with Maria Geznenge at Poitiers!

Laura Robson
