Re: Goddess in training: Despina Papamichail

Despina won 6-0 6-3
Hilda Melander will be Despina's opponent in the second round
Go Despina!

Also, Richel Hogenkamp, the girl who Despina lost to last week ended up winning that whole tournament, so Despina should be proud that she lost to her, and not someone else who lost in the next round

Daniilidou. Venus. Azarenka. Halep. Wickmayer.

Re: Goddess in training: Despina Papamichail

Interesting article
It seems that Despina will play Junior Roland Garros this year
If she comes to the US Open, I MIGHT GET TO SEE HER PLAY
And she's currently playing in a tournament where Haas, Federer, Ivanovic, and Clijsters have played

To 17th International Junior Tournament Citta' Di Pratο είναι βαθμού δυσκολίας 2, οι αγώνες γίνονται σε Red Clay γήπεδα, για την 19η εβδομάδα του ITF Juniors ημερολογίου.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I looked it up, and Despina is currently 29 out of junior roland garros qualifying
I hope for withdrawals
What do you think about Despina? How far can she go on the WTA level? I say without a doubt top 50. Top 20 is defintely reachable too. Although Eleni got all the way to #14, she wasn't there for long. If Despina gets up to #20, she will be a regular top 20 player, as she is very consistent I don't know how much further she can go, but first let's focus on the junior tour.

Daniilidou. Venus. Azarenka. Halep. Wickmayer.
Cornet. Ivanovic. Vesnina.. Vaidisova. Krajicek.
Paszek. Begu. Cirstea. Lisicki. Pavlyuchenkova.
Pironkova. Stephens. Tatishvili. McHale. Flipkens.
Grammatikopoulou ~ Papamichail ~ Sakkari
I'm obsessed with the Greek players. Deal with it.

Re: Goddess in training: Despina Papamichail

To 17th International Junior Tournament Citta' Di Pratο είναι βαθμού δυσκολίας 2, οι αγώνες γίνονται σε Red Clay γήπεδα, για την 19η εβδομάδα του ITF Juniors ημερολογίου.

Despina jumped up the junior rankings this week. She is now#90
2nd all-time on the Greek list
This week she passed Asimina Kaplani, last week Nikoleta Kirpritidou and the week before that Anna Gerasimou. She is just the third Greek to ever crack the juniors top 100

She isn't playing this week though

Daniilidou. Venus. Azarenka. Halep. Wickmayer.
Cornet. Ivanovic. Vesnina.. Vaidisova. Krajicek.
Paszek. Begu. Cirstea. Lisicki. Pavlyuchenkova.
Pironkova. Stephens. Tatishvili. McHale. Flipkens.
