Dementieva vs Peer : LIVE SCORING

This match is a Second Round match at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow, Russia. The tournament is a Tier I played on Carpet.

Lena is playing Shahar Peer of Israel. The H2H with Dementieva and Peer is tied at 1-1 with Peer having beaten Dementieva at Roland Garros 2006 and Dementieva gained revenge in Los Angeles this year.

Dementieva received a Bye into the Second Round seeing as she is a Top 4 Seed, whereas Peer defeated Wildcard Elena Bovina 6-0 6-2 to reach this stage.

The current score in this match lies at Peer leading 6-4 1-1. To look on the bright side, Lena was down 5-1 in the First Set so she has obviously been playing better the last 15 minutes. Maybe her injury is hampering her progress?

Go Lena

Yes! Go Lena!

Lena leads 5-2 in the Second Set. And Lena hasn't lost a 3 set match in 2006 so she is certain to win.

Go Lena

Dementieva is broken to love when serving for the Second Set. She served two Double Faults in that game, the Second at 0-40.

Peer serving now at 4-5.

Lena got off to a poor start going down 1-5 in the First Set. Lena then rallied to get the score back to 4-5, but Peer held serve to win the First Set. Lena then stormed to a 5-2 lead in the Second Set, but Peer came back and served for the match at 6-5. Peer held a Match Point, but Lena saved it . Peer was then up 3-0 in the tiebreak, but Lena won seven of the next eight points to send the match into a Third Set. Lena then broke Peer three times in the deciding set on her way to winning it 6-3.

Go Lena!

Great win!!! Will Lena celebrate her b-day in style lifting the Cup on Sunday? Is it meant to be? ::crosses fingers::

Verdasco,

Nice job with the live-match scoring updates!

Cheers,

Carlos
