She Actually started 2004 at around 12 i believe ,so this years a good improvement already, and a semi showing in Tokyo will mean passing Nastya ,so a good chance to rise ,the Russinas are all pretty close to each other!

Captain of the all new SS Dementieva

what is the rankings now.how did serena get to no.2 so fast.this year has had a great start.i think elena deserves to be around 3 or 4 at the moment and if her serve improves no.1 will be in her reach.a good wimby and decent retaining of points at other tournies and she will be flying.a final appearance in la would be excellent.and please lena no more losses in first round.correct me if i'm wrong but did she have 14 first round exits last year.turn half of those into decent results and she will be doing awesome.i think lena is better than nastya so she deserves a higher ranking

lol, well, she did go down in rankings... but she gained points. So on the flip side, if she keeps gaining points at tournaments, that would mean she would win at Roland Garros, Flushing Meadows and Moscow this year.

Let's hope so...I do agree with you Ronaldo, she indeed is too talented not to win a Grand Slam in her career. And I think that I willl even be happier about it than her when it finally happens

Thank you, Elena

yeah me too.on eurosport i here commentaters say she lacks talent of other players and she is only good because of effort on court.they even call petrova talented but not lena.maybe thats why i love her.she never gets any help just goes about her own business and earns all her things herself and doesnt care about modelling etc.

Yeah well, I gues that not all commentators are as happy about the Russian 'invasion' as others... You can really wonder why those guys are being called experts when they go around saying things like that...

I Poland commentators like Lena. They said that Lena is one of the best players in the world, and if she improve her serve she will be the best.

Elena hardly gets any attention here. Her backhand is as good as Thomas Johanssons.
