Venus Williams to Compete at Second Annual JPMorgan Chase Tennis
Challenge to Benefit the
(Delray Beach) -The second Annual JPMorgan Chase Tennis Challenge
benefiting the OWL Foundation will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 7:00
p.m. at the Delray Beach Tennis Center, it was announced today by
Oracene Williams, mother of tennis greats Venus and Serena, and founder
of the OWL Foundation. The OWL Foundation's mission is to provide
assistance to youth with special educational needs.
The inaugural event in 2001 featured ATP stars Justin Gimelstob, Andy
Roddick, Luke Jensen, Murphy Jensen, Serena Williams, and Venus
Williams. The exhibition featured singles matches and a special brothers
vs. sisters doubles match.
This year, the JPMorgan Chase Tennis Challenge will feature Venus
competing against a top WTA Tour player in a singles match. Other ATP
and WTA tour players who will participate will be announced later.
Serena will also support the event.
'Thanks to the sponsorship support of JPMorgan Chase, this event
provides at-risk children with much-needed special educational
services,' said Oracene Williams. 'It is my goal for the OWL Foundation
to provide the resources for children to reach their full educational
