Since Tyra and Caty both have their own cheering thread now, I think Amanda can have hers too!
She was born on August 31, 2001 in New Jersey, but lives in Miami.
Her best results so far this year are a final at G14 Nike Junior International Teen Tennis in England (she was the 8th seed, and lost to 2nd seed Caty McNally in the final, 1 & 3), followed by a QF appearance at G14 Les Petits As in France (she was the 5th seed there and fell to 4th seed and eventual runner-up Olga Danilovic in QF, 1 & 1) in January, and in July she made the SFs at G4 Justine Henin Junior Cup where as the 11th seed, she defeated the top seed Sandra Ortevall (#253) in straight sets, before being upset by the 12th seed Juliette Bastin in SF, 1 & 4.
Last week, she was at a CHR of 567.
This week, she's playing G1 Prince George’s County International Hard Court Junior Tennis Championship and off to a great start as she qualified for MD super easily (she was the 12th seed in qualies, had a bye in Q1, beat Lea Ma 2 & 0 in Q2 and (5)Amanda Meyer 0 & 1 in Q3) and already upset the 7th seed Anastasia Potapova (U14 #1 European player, Les Petits As champion and QFist at Wimbledon a few weeks ago) fairly easily in R1, 2 & 2. :yeah:
Keep going
