I didn't see a thread for her but I figured I would. She's on TC right now playing Marion Bartoli in the 2nd round of the Bank of the West Classic. She's currently up 4-2 and seems to have a nice game.

Mal won 85.4% of her matches, earlier at Stanford this year, with a 41-7 record.

Who would have thought that she would be winning 85.7% of her matches on the tour, with a 24-4 record so far this summer?

At the rate she's going...she could be the next Lindsey Davenport :oh:

She is playing the 100K in Poitiers this week. Her quarter is below. Won her first round easily over Savinykh. She will need to be on her game if she faces Niculescu in round 2. Good luck!

Yulia Putintseva (KAZ) d. (6)Alexandra Cadantu (ROU) 63 64
Irena Pavlovic (FRA) v Garbine Muguruza (ESP)
Mallory Burdette (USA) d. Valeria Savinykh (RUS) 63 62
(3)Monica Niculescu (ROU) v (Q)Elitsa Kostova (BUL)

Mal defeated Falconi and Min in straights to advance to the final of the AOWC tournament. Faces Madison Keys tomorrow for a spot in her second consecutive slam MD. Gonna be very tough...but if anyone can match Madison's power it'll be Mal. :)

There is so much room and time for this girl to move up the rankings this season. Literally nothing to defend until July. Hope she can play freely and just enjoy this first year on tour!

Lesia Tsurenko (UKR) d. Mallory Burdette (USA) 62 75 :(

Got off to a terrible start and wasn't able to hold serve enough. Not the ideal start to 2013 but she took a chance playing the bigger tournament which has merit in itself. I know she played some in Europe at the end of last year but I'm sure it's still an adjustment playing on the other side of the world.

She might be in Hobart next week? Not sure. If not we will see her in Melbourne.

Mal wasn't born when Kimiko turned pro in 1989.

No disrespect to Mal but Kimiko has played tennis against 3 or 4 generation of players, playing against the likes of:
Gabriela Sabatini, Monica Seles, Arantxa Sánchez Vicario, Martina Hingis...and upon returning from her retirement has played against Caroline Wozniacki, Marion Bartoli, Venus Williams, and has even defeated Maria Sharapova
