Can't quite believe she did it. That's easily her best win ever and on HC no less.
Didn't see this one coming at all and finally a positive surprise.
On a side note: So sad she never plays Stuttgart. Will be the only tourney I can attend this year timewise.
Interesting. It is her best win when looking at world ranking ( #6), but the match where she really got people's attention and made noise was beating #11 Schiavone, a past FO champion, in round 3 at Roland Garros in 2012.
Varvara. What a huge fight again! Quite similar to her FO run! I hope she can somewhat put up a fight next round, but it will be really tough! This is her first real good tourney in ages! Ironically enough last season was still her second-best one ever ranking-wise.
Still not too fond of her schedule this year playing no internationals at all and only the biggest tourneys. I mean money is important, but I believe she could have done well in the Brazilian Swing instead of losing to Zanevska in Dubai Q. Her first International of the year will obviously be the toughest one in Oeiras, where she is last one in.
