Apparently they served for the first set twice.

They did, they lead 4-2, Lisa served for it at 5-4 and Vania at 6-5. They also led 5-2 in the TB as CCR mentioned. Lisa seemed a bit off in the TB, she missed a pretty routine forehand volley @ 3-1 and double faulted at 5-4. It's probably tough to wait around all day to play that late.

Re: Lisa Raymond cheering thread

Hopefully they can play more events together and get more play.

Does anyone know who Lisa is planning on playing with during the euro clay season?

I liked this team, shame about the performance. Were they really bad or did Mladenovic/Safarova play well?

Mladenovic and Safarova weren't missing alot, but the missed easy volley by Lisa at 3-1 really determined who won the match

^That's disappointing. I still think they have potential.

Re: Lisa Raymond cheering thread

My speculation is that Raymond/Robson are teaming up for the rest of the year. I don't think Stosur could play all of the tournaments so their schedule was limited and Robson was able and wanting to play for the whole season. I guess we will see in a few weeks time! Fingers crossed- i like that pairing a lot and think they could do very well together given how complementary their strengths are- Laura's big returns and serves set Lisa up nicely!

Re: Lisa Raymond cheering thread

It's been confirmed that Lisa/Laura will be teaming up during the grass court season. Based off of what Vania said in her interview during Charleston, her and Lisa will be playing the clay court season together. I really like the prospect of Lisa/Vania, and that match against Mladeonvic/Safarova was a match they definitely should have won. Lisa missed some key shots in that TB, and they never quite recovered. They were definitely enjoying each other's company on court, and seemed to have great chemistry.

Great news for both the grass and clay season

I love Sam and all. But I think it would be best to rest up a bit and just play singles. Gotta let the body heal sometimes

Re: Lisa Raymond cheering thread

Here's a great, insightful article about Lisa Raymond by one of my favorite writers, Slate.com's Emily Bazelon.

The Best Tennis Player I Ever Saw
Catching up with 39-year-old pro Lisa Raymond, who destroyed me on the court when I was 12 and she was 9.
