Re: Lisa Raymond cheering thread

Lost to Petrova/Srebotnik 6-4 6-4.

Lisa was broken early in both sets and they couldn't get it back. Petrova and Srebotnik were serving extremely well. They broke back down 3-4 in the 2nd set, but Liezel was then broken at love, and Srebotnik served out the match at love.

Onto Cincy...

Lisa / Liz

Kata and Nads could prove to be a very tough new team

Re: Lisa Raymond cheering thread

Ugh. Petrova/Srebotnik need 2 tight 3 setters against Chuang/Zhang and Mattek-Sands/Mirza to even get to this match and then they crush Lisa/Liezel.

This team is sinking fast lately. People want to hate on their 4 match losing streak on clay when they first started, but they lost to Mirza/Vesnina in Charleston (who won the title), Peng/Zheng in Rome (who won the title), Hlavackova/Voskoboeva in Brussels (who won the title), and Dellacqua/Stubbs in Madrid (made SFs). Those were good losses when taken into perspective. The losses since Indian Wells I feel have become far worse than that clay streak. They are just getting worse as a team rather than better.

Wasn't it Pavlyuchenkova/Safarova who beat them in Charleston?

Re: Lisa Raymond cheering thread

Also, I wonder how much not getting an Olympic medal (in what is likely to be her last Olympics and certainly her best ever chance) will affect Liezel.

It might be too early to tell, and granted the team has been sinking for a while (way before London), but another uninspired SF loss to a team that has hardly played before is hardly the best sign.

Re: Lisa Raymond cheering thread

^They were their easiest defeat. They lost the final to Jans/Mladenovic. This team needs some confidence and hopefully it comes from winning Cincy. Lisa needs this title

Re: Lisa Raymond cheering thread

Draw is opening up severely. Kirilenko/Petrova AND King/Shvedova withdrew.

Daniilidou/Peng in R2 tomorrow though.

Re: Lisa Raymond cheering thread

Some 'bad' scheduling have put Huber/Raymond behind the pack. The 3 QFs are being played today, while their R2 is being played today. Meaning they need to play everyday to win the title.

It is bad scheduling because they put Jankovic-Peng and Daniilidou-Serena last, knowing that they were entered into doubles.

0-1. Peng holds to 15.
1-1. Lisa holds on Deciding Point.
2-1. Daniilidou broken to 30.
3-1. Liezel holds to 15.
3-2. Peng holds to 15.
3-3. Lisa broken on Deciding Point.
4-3. Daniilidou broken on Deciding Point.
4-4. Liezel broken on Deciding Point.
4-5. Peng holds to love.
4-6. Lisa broken on Deciding Point.

0-1. Peng holds on Deciding Point.
1-1. Liezel holds to 15.
2-1. Daniilidou broken on Deciding Point.
2-2. Lisa broken on Deciding Point.
2-3. Peng holds on Deciding Point.
2-4. Liezel broken to 30.
2-5. Daniilidou holds to 30.
3-5. Lisa holds to 30.
4-5. Peng broken to 30.
4-6. Liezel broken to 30, after leading 30-15.

3-6 on Deciding Points. Ridiculous. This shit needs to end now. Losing to Peng/Daniilidou? Really?
