I would like to start a cheering thread for one of the sweetest young girls out there. Alison is so nice and always smiling. She's had some great results this summer, and let's hope she can do well in the pro's! :worship: :kiss: :hug:

I really hope Alison has some great success in '08! I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Alison and her mother in Ashland and they really are two of the sweetest people you'll ever met. Mrs. Riske is so far from the prototypical pushy tennis parent-it's clear they're the best of friends and she simply just wants the best for her daughter.'

FYI, Alison has said she is definitely going to college for all four years, regardless of whether or not she wins the NCAA's. She said that based on watching the experiences of her sister on tour, she knows that she's not ready to handle professional life. She's just playing pro tournaments for the time being in order to get experience.

Alison qualified for 50K Boston and plays Luzhanska from Ukraine in R1;)

Good job Alison! Good luck in the MD!
I was just about to make a thread for her when I saw this. :lol:
According to tennisrecruiting.net, she's going to Vanderbilt.
I wish that she would have tried the pro circuit for a bit.

This year Alison made the SF of Indian Harbour Beach 50k as a qualifier. She made the final of the 10k Hilton Head a couple years ago where she lost in three sets to top seed Mueller.

46 64 63:eek::woohoo::bowdown:
But now she plays Lauren Albanese:(
I don't know who to root for:sad:

Same here. It seems that some of the ones that should try pro don't and some who play pro (Asia Muhammed and Danielle Mills) shouldn't.

Alison beat Lauren today 6-4 6-1. She has seriously found some form this year. :)

If she makes the semis or better that will be her second 50k that she's qualified and made it to at least that round. I personally think she should then tell Vanderbilt to shove it. :lol:

Yeah Alison!!!! :D If she goes to college I'll be sick. :lol: Don't get me wrong, I think for some girls it's the right road, but for others who are posting good results like Alison, what does it hurt to try pro? I think as long as you don't relinquish your amateur status, then you can still go play college.
