Lol, no one here except 1 Romanian with 1 post in the last months .

Lost 2-6 1-6.

If she lost at some chapters after switching country representation it's the Coverage side and the supporters (even spectators) side. Nobody gives a damn , not even mentioned in the US about her right now it seems ....

Re: Edina Gallovits cheering thread

Poor Edi, was so pumped up for playing GS again and ended up with such a bad loss

I wonder if she'll continue to give it a go in ITF, maybe even sign up for the USO, or focus on coaching. I wish her all the best either way.

Re: Edina Gallovits cheering thread

She is using her PR to play USO qualifying. She plays Hibi in QR1. She didn't play a single warmup and is MIA on social media so I have no idea whether she prepared for the tournament and/or if this is possibly her last match.

Yas... she was so active on social media but since Wimbledon nothing I saw her in the Quebec City MD list so she'll probably play at least one more tournament.

Some short audio clips from a interview she gave after Wimby, mostly talking about Halep: http://radiotimisoara.ro/2015/07/08/...ntinua-in-top/

Re: Edina Gallovits cheering thread

Looks like she retired for good this time.

After she changed flags, from ROU to USA , nobody wrote anything about her.

I didn't completely understand the decision. I mean, she played under Romania's flag since the beginning and the last 2 tournaments and a half were for USA...

Anyway, she was the first Romanian representant from the new "era" to break Top 100, Top 55 and make a WTA final, and I respect her for that. She's (one of the first) Romanian women tennis player(s) that I saw play a match on TV / internet. Best of luck in the next chapter of her life ! .

Re: Edina Gallovits cheering thread

Her decision was to get US citizenship, most likely having to do with family, not with the country she wanted to represent as a tennis player, as her career was at the end. I think it's safe to say she knew it.

AFAIK, you can obtain US citizenship and still represent the country you're originally from, in competitions.

"As Far As I Know" . Anyway, not that important. In the end, she was a pretty decent / successful tennis player , given the country she came from . Kudos for that. And the rest, I said 4 posts above.

So what is Edina up to now? For some reason I thought I heard she was doing some coaching. That's probably wrong, though.

She used to coach Ellie Halbauer. IDK if it still stands. She has Instagram and Twitter which you can follow. Maybe there's something there.
