Best progression and closed to break the national ranking, Vania gives a little bit of fresh for american tennis. She's up 3 places in the NR and more that 30 spots in the world ranking. She captured her ever 1rst WTA tour title at Bankhok upsetting 4 seed/n°39 Safarova, 8 seed/n°51 Kostanic and 6 seed/n°43 Shaughnessy en route and WC/n° come backer Tanasugarn. Before that breakthrough, she also reached the 2nd rd at Tokyo ousting n°53 Bremond.
Ashley is back to the world Top 100 at n°89 focusing on the american ITF circuit in October. she reached the SF at Troy $50K, won her 1rst ITF ot the year at San Fransisco $50K (ousting Top seed/n°74 Granville en route) and QF at Houston $50K.
Ahsha is up 20 spots in the WR and broke her ranking record (n°131-september 25, 2006) winning her 1rst ITF title of the year at Albuquerque $75K (upsetting 3rd seed/n°124 Dubois, Top seed/n°76 Granville and 6th seed/n°131 Brandi). Like Ashley, she concentrated on the american ITF circuit with reaaly smart results: semi finalist at Ashland $50K (vicotry over 3rd seed/n°102 Kutuzova), runner up at Troy $50K (2nd victory in a row over 4th seed/n°134 Brandi, 2nd seed/n°105 Harkleroad).
Angela is fighting to recover her level who made her reached the Top 100 in august 2005 (n°95). Due to her lower ranking, she's aloso competing on the ITF circuit reaching 2 QF at Troy and San Francisco $50K challengers, and a SF at Houston $50K (win vs n°91 Harkleroad).
Jill and Amy are the biggest slumps. Jill lost 3 times in a row in the 1rst rd at Beijing, Seoul and Tokyo WTA events due to unfortunate toss (2 times losing to in form and recent new Top 20 player Bartoli and Zheng). Last week, she found the way back to vistories reaching the QF at Linz ousting 7th seed/n°56 Dulko en route. As far as Amy is concerned, it seemsthat she's nearly at the end of her career with lighter program: she hasn't been playing since the USO.
NEW ENTRY for Abigail who was Top 70 player in 2005 who reached several times the 2nd rd of the tournements she commited (Kolkhata and Tokyo WTA events, Houston $50K challenger), and one QF at Tokyo $50K challenger.
