I got to watch Taylor play a couple months ago and its was a nice surprise, I found her pretty enjoyable to watch, her leftie strokes were looking good (even though they're lacking some lethal factor yet)... and yesterday, she won her biggest title to date, G1 Copa Barranquilla in Colombia, and I thought it was a good occasion to start a cheering thread for her
Taylor is 15 (born August 7, 2000), she's from LA, and as I've mentioned above, she's a leftie which I always find pretty exciting.
Last week, she beat Sandra Bozinovic 3 & 3 in R1, 5th seed Emiliana Arango (#79) 6-3 2-6 7-6(5) in R2, 10th seed Yang Lee (#127) 1 & 4 in R3, (WC)Maria Osorio Serrano 7-6(4) 6-1 in QF, Shelly Krolitzky (who slew top seed Pervushina in QF ) 4 & 1 in SF, and qualifier Maria Vittoria Viviani 1 & 3 in the final on her way to the G1 championship! :yeah: (even though it's obvious that the field was just ridiculously field for a G1).
She's currently #216, her CHR so far is 200, but she will make a big jump in the post-Ao rankings!
Last year, she only made 1 final, in May at G4 Delray Beach, which she lost to Tyra Black, 3 & 2.
Let's hope for a good 2016 for Tay!
