Question Points tally for AO wildcard

Now I know that one of you must be keeping track of who has earnt what points for the AO wildcard from this challenger series. So has Trudi got it locked up, and if not who can beat her and what do they have to do?

PS I really appreciate the effort that some of you go to in providing points etc. Shows how in-depth your coverage and knowledge of the Aussie girls is.

i dont have the indepth but trudi would need to lose both the following tournments really early and either casey comes back and wins and gets in final/semis and brianne/monique wins both

im pretty sure there is no way that trudi cant get the wildcard now . . although having points would be nice to show it more easier :-)

GO THE AUSSIE GIRLS

Alicia Molik~Nicole Pratt~Samantha Stosur~Christina Wheeler

Nicole Kriz~Monique Adamczak~Isabella Holland~Jessica Moore

Emily Hewson~Trudi Musgrave~Sophie Ferguson~Casey Dellacqua

Monique Adamczak, Evie Dominikovic and Bryanne Stewart are all still in the hunt, its not Trudi's yet, but its gonna take an impressive last two tournament results from the other three to snatch it from her!

I'm surprised to hear that Monique Adamczak, Evie Dominikovic and Bryanne Stewart are all still in the hunt. Truthfully I can remember any of these 3 doing anything startling the past couple of months so that makes me even more surprised.

I thought Trudi had it wrapped up becuase she won last week and was she r/u in one other. Maybe her mistake was playing that tourney in Thailand instead of the final challenger in Qld.

I was thinking that Casey would have been the only other challenger if she had not withdrawn from the SA tourneys.

Does anyone know how they award the points?

Im pretty sure they use the old 'round' point previously used by the ITF for $25K's

1st round - 1 Point
2nd round - 3 Points
Q/Finalist - 6 Points
S/Finalist - 10 Points
Runner Up - 15 Points
Winner - 21 Points

This given the case there are 7 other Aussies possible of still winning the wildcard. Although the chances are remote however still feasible.

Points Ladder

Trudi Musgrave - R/U, 1st, 2nd, W = 40 points
Bryanne Stewart - Q/F, 2nd, Q/F, 2nd = 18 points
Monique Adamczak - S/F, Q/F, 1st, 1st = 18 points
Evie Dominikovic - 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd = 12 points
Mireille Dittmann - 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd = 10 points
Lauren Breadmore - 1st, 1st, 2nd, 1st = 6 points
Cindy Watson - 2nd, 1st, DNQ, DNQ = 4 points
Christina Wheeler - DNP, DNP, DNP, 1st = 1 point

For Wheeler to get it she would have to win Nurioopta and Mt Gambier and have Trudi Lose 1st round in both events. Then Wheeler would have 43 points and Trudi 42! Watson/Breadmore would have to win both as well with Trudi losing in a 1st round of one event and 2nd round at best in the remaining challenger. A final and a win for Mireille and Evie would get them across the line if Trudi did no better than a 2nd round and a Q/F in her final two events. A S/F and R/U finish in the final two might be all Monique and Bryanne need as well if Trudi loses both 1st rounds.

All in all its unlikely that Trudi won't get the wildcard. Probably Evie has the best chance to knock her off if she can get her head into gear!

Trudi Musgrave - R/U, 1st, 2nd, W, 1st = 41 points
Bryanne Stewart - Q/F, 2nd, Q/F, 2nd, 2nd* = 21 points
Monique Adamczak - S/F, Q/F, 1st, 1st, 2nd* = 21 points
Evie Dominikovic - 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd* = 15 points
Mireille Dittmann - 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd* = 13 points

Great analysis Ausboy. Shows us clearly who has what. With Trudi losing first round, there is a real opportunity for some of the others to sneak in.

And then there were 3!

Points update up to Quarter Finals

Trudi Musgrave - R/U, 1st, 2nd, W, 1st = 41 points
Bryanne Stewart - Q/F, 2nd, Q/F, 2nd, Q/F* = 24 points
Monique Adamczak - S/F, Q/F, 1st, 1st, Q/F* = 24 points

Even if Monique and Bryanne lose their Q/F they are still in the running next week but would have to win Mount Gambier!

Hang in there Trudi

"Religion has actually convinced people that there is an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. Any if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

But he loves you."

What would happen if there's a tie????

Thanks Ausboy for the update.

If there was to be a tie to me the fairest way would be to award wildcards to both players concerned. Let's face it, no-one else has done enough to deserve it.

I'll bet both Sam and Evie will get WC's but their performances during this set of challengers have been somewhat lacking.
