Re: Fed Cup 2013

Real difficult one. And I expect the no. 2 Rodionova not to get picked even though her form is better (not overwhelmingly, but better) and than her counterparts. I think its key to have another singles player up our belt and I would drop Ash for Rodi.

There's more to life than just being happy.

Re: Fed Cup 2013

^I think you're right. Rodi is probably a more dependable bet in both singles and doubles atm than any of the other 3. I only wouldn't drop Ash necessarily. They're going to want her to start playing a significant role before very long, so I'd be inclined to bring her along for experience. That said, it would be tough to drop either Casey or Jarka, so it probably won't happen.

Re: Fed Cup 2013

Even though I cannot stand her, I'd definitely put Rodionova in the team ahead of hot mess Gajdosova. Rodionova is at least playing something that resembles tennis.

She played really well against BMS in Charleston, I watched the match - her usual awful antics but played well. BMS has gone on to thrash Sloane 62 60. I wish they would put her in.

I hope you include Stosur in the other 3 for doubles.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to believe she used to be #1 in doubles. Luckily one of the few good things about the current team is that whatever happens they shouldn't need Sam to play doubles

Re: Fed Cup 2013

After watching Raysur in US earlier before, I think we can safely say she should be at the bottom of the picking list

Re: Fed Cup 2013

Yeah, that second singles spot is going to be a very tough choice.

I think another consideration would be the clay surface, which as far as I know has never been good for Casey or ARod. Jarka, while erratic way and out of form, probably has a bit more of a record of success on the surface.

Samantha Stosur

Jarmila Wolfe|Svetlana Kuznetsova|Francesca Schiavone|Zhang Shuai|Sloane Stephens|Ashleigh Barty
Andy Murray|Stanislas Wawrinka|Ryan Harrison|Juan Martin Del Potro|Jack Sock

Two round3's at RG for ARod Also beating players like Zvonareva, Petrova and Makarova on it.

Really? I haven't followed her career at all, so I probably shouldn't be speaking of that which I don't know

I think she's got a pretty solid claim to Jarka's spot if she can play well on the surface. It will be very interesting to see what Alicia does.
