Re: Us Open 2012

Casey loses first 6-4 playing very well. Now leads 4-0 in the 2nd with Na getting frustrated. Keep it up Case!

She was up 4-0??

How did she manage to lose 6-4 then??

She played so well Na just kept edging her after that lead. So many chances but couldn't take them. Commentators said Casey won't play again this year now?

Why wouldn't she? She just started gaining form.

Apparently because she hardly got an off season last year and she wants to train :/ I think 2 of those Asian MM would still give her a long off season. Hope it's the right decision.

Re: Us Open 2012

Yeah I heard Casey saying she won't play again for the rest of the year! This is stupid! When she is in the best form she has been in for a couple of years she has a chance to get her rank up so that she will get direct entry into Gold Coast or Auckland at the start of next year instead of having to rely on a Wildcard. 19 tournaments in a year is not enough!!

Re: Us Open 2012

^ Not to mention that she could miss the cut for AO?

Not sure how many points she'll lose now, so she still might sneak in. But very silly decision. Go play an Asian MM or something and be done with it.

If she doesn't play she will drop back out of the top 100 by years end after all the points from the 25k's come off, however the entry list for Melbourne is 6 weeks before the tournament starts so the last few she had to defend won't matter anyway, so she will 90% make the cut off. Still silly not to play another event or 2 though.

Re: Us Open 2012

^^ Strange..... 4 months of not playing??

The way she was playing this year, so hit and miss, it crossed my mind that she might retire. Maybe the motivation isn't where it should be and she wants a break after the hard slog back (again)

There's more to life than just being happy.

Re: Us Open 2012

Another good win by Sam. She's probably already exceeded many people's expectations

Plays Laura Robson for a spot in the QF.

Re: Us Open 2012

That's what the commentators said during her match with Li? Came straight from her mouth don't think they would make it up.

Re: Us Open 2012

Another choke by Casey must be noted in the doubles...huge chance to blow the draw open by beating huber/raymond blowing a 4-1 final set lead...

Good luck to the West Aussies in 2013!:
Casey Dellacqua Jessica Moore Bojana Bobusic Storm Sanders
as well as Jelena Dokic Sam Stosur Sally Peers Ash Barty Olivia Rogowska Monique Adamczak Sacha Jones Rodionova Sisters Tammi Patterson Vicky Rajicic Azra Hadzic Alison Bai
|
And all the other aussie girls

Re: Us Open 2012

Excuse my ignorance....
Is it kinda odd that Australia had no girls attend the US Open girls event?
Excusing Barty of course, none had rankings high enough?
Will Bains/Tomic/Hon/the rest be battling out the girls Slam events in 2013?
Or is 2014 more there year?
