JAMES, Elizabeth v. MYERS, Abbie
HOANG, Lyann v. GRAMLICK, Cassie
COSTELLOE, Chloe v. HUBACEK, Alenka [14]

TANANTA, Lavinia [6] (INA) v. Bye
BENGSON, Stephanie v. NOWICKI, Oriana
ZHANG, Kai-Lin (CHN) v. BILLETT, Erin
O'MEARA, Jessica v. STARR, Emelyn [16]

BAI, Alison [7] v. Bye
MLADIN, Deeon v. SCIVETTI, Daniela
KEIR, Ashley v. VLAKIC, Ivana
JUAN, Ting-Fei [9] (TPE) v. Bye

WESTBURY, Katherine [8] (NZL) v. Bye
SANDERS, Storm v. BURNS, Emily
KAFEDJIYSKA, Ivana v. RYAN, Karis
CALDERWOOD, Tyra v. RAJICIC, Viktorija [13]

That last section is tough: Westbury, Rajicic, Sanders, Calderwood and Kafedjiyska. I still think Ivana and Storm are more deserving of WCs than some of the actual recipients...

Tough draw overall. We'll be lucky to get more than 1 or 2 through...

I'm happy with that

Good effort from both girls to make the final. See if they can show some consistency and repeat these performances.

Re: 2011/12 Aussie ITF circuit

Although i hoped Liv would win its a shame one of them had to lose. I think the worrying thing is Izzy's serve she lost 7-5 7-5. Which means she would have got broken in a pressuare moment. Oh well into Cairns.

Edit: Anyone know what both there rankings will go up to?

Re: 2011/12 Aussie ITF circuit

Great result for Liv. In one week she's almost defended half her points from the pro tour circuit last year.

I expect more consistent results from both of them.

Re: 2011/12 Aussie ITF circuit

Well done Liv and bad luck Izzy.

Good signs from them and some of our other girls this week. Liv and Izzy should finish the year well inside the top 200 at this rate.

Qualie results from Cairns: http://www.tennis.com.au/wp-content/...11/09/WQS1.pdf

Storm Sanders went down in a tight 3 setter to Katherine Westbury after an easy first round win. The only Aussies thru to final round are Elyse Edwards (thank to top seed moving into MD), Bai, Starr, Tredoux, Rajicic, Sumner and Hubacek. Good luck tomorrow girls!

Re: 2011/12 Aussie ITF circuit

Well done to Samantha Harris in winning her 1R w/o losing a game.... (ok it was a retirement).... did well against Tezuka.

Liv keeps battling on, well done on the win. Casey will romp through these tournies I expect.

There's more to life than just being happy.

Re: 2011/12 Aussie ITF circuit

Three good wins for Aussies today in the MD in Cairns:

Hadzic def. Murray (GBR) 6-3 6-7 6-2
Bobusic def. Litvak (USA) 6-3 6-2
Adamczak def. Han (KOR) 3-6 7-6 6-1

Dominikovic lost to Omae (JPN) 6-7 0-6

Pretty good results tho!

Re: 2011/12 Aussie ITF circuit

Very nice wins for all three girls. Particularly happy with Hadzic's win, she had a good run this time last year and has a few points to defend.
If Bojana keeps these slolid results up I hope that she gets chance in AO quallies next year. She has been overlooked the past few years hasn't she?

Samantha Stosur, Ash Barty, Lucie Safarova

Kim Birrell, Sabine Lisicki, Lizette Cabrera, Priscilla Hon

Kristina Mladenovic, Heather Watson, Ana Konjuh, Zoe Hives

Re: 2011/12 Aussie ITF circuit

^ She was deservedly overlooked this year, but I think she deserved a shot in 2010.

Agreed. I hope she can get a start next year, but she'll have to do better than what she is at the moment. Right now I'd give her an outside shot as there are younger players that could stake their claim.

I think Dani's singles career has 'peaked' so to speak. Perhaps she ought to stick to doubles.

Re: 2011/12 Aussie ITF circuit

*sigh* wish I was back up in Cairns like I was during last year's tourney

Nothing exciting, but here's a couple of stories about how Sam's win has inspired our junior/ITF players:
