Re: Ashleigh Barty

Thought the terms were synonymous, or at least that a rolled ankle always meant a sprain of some degree.

Anyhow, sorry for putting it like that.

p.s. Defo seems it wasn't sprained judging by the latest tweets, perhaps there's a language usage thing going on here, or perhaps I put too much faith in wikipedia.

Re: Ashleigh Barty

Asheigh is back in 25k Bundaberg. She won her two qualifying matches in straight sets. One more to go. Too bad she had to miss the tournament in Ipswich, her hometown.

Pretty good start. Two matches against India and Sri Lanka, two wins. Also Ashleigh is blogging from TAs website.

Re: Ashleigh Barty

So they play Kazakhstan in the final 8? They will be a step up with Danilina in the team, but they still should handle them quite easily. Looks like a showdown with New Zealand is coming, A Fanning/Barty match would be cool

The girls are through to the World Finals (where they will be seeded), impressive performance, particularly from Barty who breezed through all her singles then knocked off World No.15 Kowase easily in the last two sets of the final!!

Congrats and good luck to the girls in the finals!

Re: Ashleigh Barty

Great stuff from the girls! Aussies rule the Asian juniors with the double Kowase is a bit overranked, but it is still a good win. So excited to see what she can do at the slams this year!

Re: Ashleigh Barty

^^
Huh?

Danimoo referred to Kowase being overranked, is that what you are meaning?

I think it was about the pronoun having no antecedent. In a thread about Ashleigh, though, I don't think it's too hard to work out who danimoo is excited to see compete in the slams.
