Nothing for the next two weeks. Right now Jarka is an alternate in Cagnes sur mer(week of may 6). Check out this thread http://www.tennisforum.com/showthrea...8#post26930298

Re: Aussies in WTA events

Some good results finally in the past couple of days

Singles R1:

[9]Stosur def. Hsieh 6-2 6-3

Doubles R1:

Rodionova/Kudryavtseva def. [5]Kops-Jones/Spears 7-5 7-5
Stosur/Schiavone def. Hantuchova/ Medina Garrigues 6-3 6-1

Promising signs all round but it's so quiet on the WTA front for Aussies atm

Re: Aussies in WTA events

^ Yes, Petra usually gets the upper hand on Sam, though their Fed Cup match was extremely close. Two straight sets matches against two hitting machines like Peng/Hsieh who would be easy to get some rhythm against, shows that Sam finding her clayfeet slowly. Whereas at times Petra can make you be a spectator with the random ball smacking, so it will be hard for Sam.

When are they gonna start showing the women on Foxtel. :-(

A good easy win for Nastya and Alla in their doubles QF. Into the SF is a great result.

Re: Aussies in WTA events

Her last one was Sharapova in Tokyo last year.

Great mental victory to beat Petra for the first time.

Hopefully it was a good omen and she can beat Vika for the first time too This is Vika's worst surface & Sam's best - and they've not played on it before. GL Sam i'm already very happy with this week

MARIA SHARAPOVA

Olivia ROGOWSKA Arantxa RUS Anett KONTAVEIT Daria GAVRILOVA
Heather WATSON Olivia TJANDRAMULIA Eugenie BOUCHARD
Nicole GIBBS Jarmila WOLFE Taylor TOWNSEND Naomi BROADY
Madison KEYS Sam STOSUR Priscilla HON Madison BRENGLE

Re: Aussies in WTA events

^ Nice :-)

Her blog on the WTA website, shows she's pretty relaxed and loves Rome. Vika will be difficult, but atleast Sam will know where she is at after this match.

Re: Aussies in WTA events

Sam lost in 3 and apparently it wasn't a great match.

Two Aussies in WTA qualifying this week.

Brussels: Liv v. Solovyeva
Strasbourg: Karolina Wlodarczak v (5/wc)Shelby Rogers

Good luck! Would love it if Karo pulled out a random win here
