Thought it was about time she got a thread, she has started to do rather well this season, though its about time. She acheived and ranking a has been travelling in Europe, which is always nice to see.
This week she is playing a 10k in Italy and is currently in the quarter final.
Tammi is now clearly the best performing Aussie in the series of 9 25k ITFs. Congratulations. I think that puts her in real contention for an AOWC. She's still only 20, which is still an age most people regard as young and still developing. Most people except TA who seem to think you're past it once you hit 20!
It is becoming a bit of a trend with the Aussie players that the players who were overshadowed by their peers as juniors seem to be coming into their own as senior players while their more highly rated counterparts fall off the radar. In the 1990 age group Tammi was behin Moore, Mirkovic, Bai, Hubacek and Calderwood and now she has surpassed all of them (except Jess).
Will be interesting to watch her on the livestream tomorrow.

Yep, another example is Sophie Letcher. It was "Sophie who?" 1-2 years ago, but now she is moving ahead of Isabella Holland and Monika Wejnert who were the two stand outs from 1992. I still get the feeling Holland and Wejnert will get back on track eventually (their past results are still more impressive than Sophie's current results), but Sophie's certainly doing better things right now.
She was never really talked about amongst the group of 1990 girls. Moore, Mirkovic, Bai, Hubacek and even Calderwood at one stage seemed to be the core group from this age group that got most of the attention and wildcards as juniors. Tammi now seems to have leapfrogged them all with the exception of Moore - but give her time and she may end up passing her too
Her biggest problem has always beenthe battle against injuries that was never ending from the time she was 16ish. Heres hoping for an injury free few years and see her real potential.
What a great year for Tammi. Coming from virtually nowhere to finish the year ranked in the Top 300 in both singles and doubles (3 ITF doubles titles too!). Let's hope she continues rising in 2011. (I don't think she has many points to defend in the 1st half of the year).
Kind of reminds me of Shannon Golds' steady rise into the top 300 too.
I reckon Tammi is an outside chance of an AO main draw WC. Selectors will definitely see the massive improvement in her ranking over the last 12 months. Look out Olivia and Jess.
Big congrats to Tammi for being awarded a QWC at the Brisbane International - her WTA debut! (This time last year she headed off to Europe to slog it out in 10Ks.)
She plays Masa Zec Peskiric (SLO) tomorrow. Good luck!
Tami has purchased a plane tix and is down to play a $25k challenger in Belgium later this month. Let's hope she hits the ground running and is able to pick up some points qucikly.
Congrats to Tammi Patterson on her first WTA level win!
Hobart Q1: def. [wc]Janette Husarova 6-2 6-2.
Okay, so she beat an unranked veteran doubles specialist... BUT! She did it easy and in under an hour which is really good to see. Plus, it's her first win in eight attempts at playing at the WTA level.
She's had a pretty quiet couple of years (hence this thread disappeared into the vortex) but here's hoping 2013 might be a good one for her
