Re: Sally Peers

Before anyone writes off Sally, let's talk about a slump in December when she has had a full year to defend her ranking. Until then it can be put down to bad draws, bad luck or just a shitty match or two.

Re: Sally Peers

(3)Olivia Sanchez(FRA) v. Silvia Soler Espinosa(ESP)
Laura Thorpe(FRA) v. Sally Peers(AUS)
(wc)Carolina Betancourt(MEX) v. Eva Birnerova(CZE)
Corinna Dentoni(ITA) v. (6)Mandy Minella(LUX)

Fairly decent section of the draw for Sally. None of the players in her section are anything special but I'd be pretty happy if she could just win her first round.

Samantha Stosur, Daniela Hantuchova, Lucie Safarova

Kim Birrell, Sabine Lisicki, Abbie Myers, Priscilla Hon

Kristina Mladenovic, Heather Watson, Ana Konjuh, Zoe Hives

Not really. These aren't really the toughest tournaments to qualify in...Stevenson was a bad draw, she seemed like she was playing well in Memphis..beating Arvidsson. This week she plays Thorpe in the first round, she could get that draw in smaller tournaments in Europhe easily.

Sally hasn't exactly been playing badly, that is just her game...she is a conistent baseliner and she is going to have to cop these losses from players with bigger games and not as much to lose against higher ranked players. Yes...Sally is going to have to add more to her game if she is going to progress further, but that will come. At the moment she just has to be there when players have an off day and take the opportunities and cop it when players with nothing to lose blow her off the court.

It is just the fact of where Sally's game is at right now and how she approaches her tennis..

Good luck Sally - Hope you have a win this week!

I think this is spot on, although I've seen only two matches of her at Rancho Mirage

Re: Sally Peers

Well Sally kicked arse in her Q1 match def. Thorpe 6-1 6-2 Laura didn't hold serve all match

A good win for Sally considering Thorpe isn't far below Sally in the rankings.

Re: Sally Peers

Sally's on court now against Soler Espinosa. Was doing well up 4-1, but now back to 4-3. C'mon Sally!
