Re: Sally Peers

Poor loss. How she goes from winning against top 30 players (Kleybanova) to losing to unseeded qualifiers in the early rounds of a 25k is beyond me. Step it up or Rogowska 2010/Moore 2009 awaits.

Simmonds is that good. She was one of the best qualifiers in both tourneys, Rancho Santa Fe and Rancho Mirage.

Anyway Peers was in a foul mood after the loss, she flatly refused my photo request

She walked away really fast, after I recovered from the 'shock' she was miles away

Sally is in a bad way. Like Liv 2010 all over again. Come on, keep working at it!

So long...

Re: Sally Peers

Look like she is going through a bit of a slump. Not overly concerned but hopefully she can turn it around quickly.

Re: Sally Peers

I wouldn't say she is in a bad way. Just a month ago she beat a top 30 player.

Didn't deal well with being top seed in her last couple of events, and honestly she was never going to beat big serving Lexy indoors in the states...

She has one bad week and you think she is in a slump?? It was the same with Olivia at Aus Open. Give these girls a break!! A slump doesn't occur until at least a month of bad losses, not just one or two tournaments in a row!

Anyhow Alex's favourite surface is indoors, and it where she had her best wins in her career beating Capriati, Myskina, Sanchez-Vicario, Huber, Hantuchova, Dementieva, Dokic all when they were top 10! She's no slouch, still has an awesome serve, her problems recently have been her movement and fitness due to ankle injuries. It looks like she is over her ankle problems and has lost a bit of weight since I last saw her play. I'm hoping for one last resurgance from her! She deserves it.

Re: Sally Peers

Huh?
People acting like Alexandra Stevenson is still relevant in tennis?!?!?
Sally isn't in a slump, just playing shit.
This would be Sally's first time going abroad so early in the season?
Maybe still adapting to not playing 500th ranked Australians here all the time...

Alex has had more top 200 wins than Sally the past 12 months, and yes Sexy Lexy still has a dangerous serve as she showed last week disposing of CoCo Vandeweghe is straight sets.

As for Sally, I thought her scoreline against Kvitova was pretty good. Big change going from WTA/Grand Slams back to Challengers, I'm sure she is still getting used to adjusting to this after a good summer. Lets see how she goes next week first before trash talking her form.

Re: Sally Peers

Why do these players go from $25K's in Australia to WTA events? They need to go and play some $25/50/75/100K's overseas and then make that jump to WTA alot smaller, because now it's like skateboarding across Springfield Fucking Gorge!
