Re: Alison Bai

I don't think playing in Asia is necessarily the answer since those events are usually full of underranked players. However, I definitely agree that she should play $10Ks if she can get into the MD (like this week), instead of trying to qualify for bigger events...

Re: Alison Bai

^^^^
Well it sure as hell ain't as hard as trying to qualifying for 50k, 75k and 100k tournaments in Europe
The losses continue. She was dumped from Hamilton main draw by top seed Sandy Gumulya, 6-3 6-1.
Is yet to win a main draw ITF match this year, or indeed one since September last year.

Re: Alison Bai

Poor Alison could have picked up so many points at the home challengers. She seems to enjoy playing in Japan though so I won't argue.

Re: Alison Bai

WD from her still hanging in there at those 50ks in Japan. If her rank is good enough to get her into qualies at those events - well I don't see why she can't have a go.

Re: Alison Bai

Like Marija in the Balkans, Alison probably has some home base in Asia, either thru family/friends - enabling her to travel about easier as well as keeping the costs down. Its the way to go and lessens the tendency for players to get homesick.
Glad she's out there playing higher events - I like her game, she should be doing better than what we've seen the last 6 months.

Re: Alison Bai

^^
Agreed.
She has been in limbo the last few years around the same rank. She really needs to start pushing up the rankings now otherwise the opportunities from TA will dry up...in fact they already have started drying up. I like the idea of Alison playing overseas and getting experience. But she should have played the Queensland 25ks IMO because 1) It's on clay, her favourite surface, 2) It was weak, 3) She needs the points.

Re: Alison Bai

The timing of these 25K's is pretty inconvenient. Do the likes of Alison and Marija go o/s for a few weeks, then fly back to Oz and then fly back o/s again. Too costly and you might as well wipe off 2 weeks adjustment time as well from all the flying.

Agreed....i like TA's thought of having them as clay preparation/lead up events but i think they should have been a few weeks earlier....so more of the girls would have played them before going o/s for their claycourt tours etc etc and avoiding the clashes with the asian events which are not well supported by the aussies this year.

Good luck to the West Aussies in 2013!:
Casey Dellacqua Jessica Moore Bojana Bobusic Storm Sanders
as well as Jelena Dokic Sam Stosur Sally Peers Ash Barty Olivia Rogowska Monique Adamczak Sacha Jones Rodionova Sisters Tammi Patterson Vicky Rajicic Azra Hadzic Alison Bai

And all the other aussie girls
