Moore pushes top seed to three sets in Sydney

Sydney, February 14 - Day one of action at the Kia International at Sydney Olympic Park saw 15-year-old West Australian Jessica Moore make the most of her wildcard entry by pushing top seed Jarmila Gajdosova of the Slovak Republic to three sets in their first round match.

Gajdosova, ranked 117 in the world, began strongly to take the first set before Moore fought back to level the match in the second. The Slovakianís experience showed in the decider, closing it out 6-3 3-6 6-3.

Doubles QF:
805-Ayumi Morita/Junri Namigata d. Jess/Tyra Calderwood - 7-5,6-2

After Sydney point is added, she'll move up to around 985 in the rankings. Not bad for only having played 4 senior tournaments & only starting last month!
