Aussie ITF Circuit 2017-2018

I know it's early - but the calendar is out for this years circuit!

Week of September 18 - $25,000 Penrith, NSW
Week of September 25 - $25,000 Brisbane, QLD
Week of October 2 - $25,000 Toowoomba, QLD
Week of October 9 - $25,000 Cairns, QLD
2 week gap
Week of October 30 - $60,000 Canberra, ACT
Week of November 6 - $60,000 Bendigo, VIC

Week of December 30 - $25,000 Playford, SA

Very interesting to have a $25K the week of Brisbane

Re: Aussie ITF Circuit 2017-2018

Where did you find information about Playford Haven't seen it anywhere.

Finally though, this will be a good thing. Brisbane usually has a very high cutoff so I presume many players who are in Australia but do not make Brisbane will play this.

Re: Aussie ITF Circuit 2017-2018

I randomly saw an article the other day - think it actually popped up on Facebook

Yes it makes a lot of sense for sure! It would probably be a very strong field with players 150-250 especially.

Re: Aussie ITF Circuit 2017-2018

Nice that SA gets an event that counts for something (not much, but better than zilch) in the Aussie summer of tennis after so many years of sweet FA..

Though they seem to have lost the 2, that were 3, ITFs in October..

PENRITH

I hope Liz actually sticks to playing there She would get very close to defending her title from Tweed Heads which would be GREAT for her ranking but it's the same week as TokyoP/Guanzhou and Seoul WTAs so it's very unlikely that she'll actually play here :/

Doesn't SA have Clare and Port Pirie in the autumn? If any state has been neglected over the years, it's NSW.

Penrith Very random Sydney(ish) event, out of nowhere.

Nice to see Liv R back too

Re: Aussie ITF Circuit 2017-2018

Welcome back to Woolcock and Sharma

Harris is back in the US for her final year, so does this mean Astra has gone pro now? I thought she had one year left too.

Re: Aussie ITF Circuit 2017-2018

Lizette needs to play the weaker Aussie ITFs to protect her ranking. Then she can go to Asia...

Not sure a 'set-in-stone' ATP250 & WTA Premier event each year - plus various Davis Cup ties - counts as neglected. Queensland sure seems to be the one with the lion's share at every level these days though.

Re: Aussie ITF Circuit 2017-2018

Peers also out now. Wonder what's the story with her, seems more like a hobby now. Just realised she literally went to Europe and played just 1 15k (which she won the doubles title) and nothing after

I'm not quite familiar with the US College terms but she should have one year left.

Vanderbilt Official Athletic Site - Vanderbilt University

But she has already done 4 years of college, but is supposed to be in her Redshirt Senior year now.
