Cveticanin in a swinging match...

Vaidya went down 0-2 *0-30 then it swung to her being up 5-2 and SP at 30-40 on Cveticanin's serve. Then Aleksa got it back to 4-5 *15-0 and proceeded to lose the next four points lol.

so it's

Vaidya 6-4 over Cveticanin
Tere-Apisah 6-2 over Gadecki
Nedanovski 6-2 1-1 over Windbuchler and
Svinos 6-0 1-1 over Husrefovic

Doubles Qualifying Draw

Bozicevic/Windbuchler (AUS/NZL) v McBryde/Winley (AUS/AUS)
Gadecki/Husrefovic (AUS/AUS) v Cveticanin/Kovacevic (AUS/AUS)

Doubles Draw

(1)Hon/Mihalikova (AUS/SVK) v McPhee/Svinos (AUS/AUS)
Q v Hanatani/Parnaby (JPN/AUS)
(4)Bains/Myers (AUS/AUS) v Lorbergs/Zakarlyuk (AUS/UKR)
Inglis/Minokoshi (AUS/JPN) v Staines/Tomic (AUS/AUS)

Aiava/Smith (AUS/AUS) v Brescia/Talcott (ITA/USA)
(3)Cabrera/Tjandramulia (AUS/AUS) v Adamczak/Rogowska (AUS/AUS)
Q v Tan/Tang (SIN/CHN)
(2)Bai/Dunne (AUS/GBR) v Tere-Apisah/Vaidya (PNG/IND)

So guaranteed at least one doubles finalist from the top half. There are only 3 teams in the draw not containing an Aussie.

POLISH CHOKESTERS are back  :cheer: That R1 match though :tears:

Kinda funny that this tournament is like the old $10k's but two weeks time the tournament at the same level is looking like a borderline $50k. The vagaries of ITF tennis. At least it isn't like the futures. Just Oceania + American players. How bland.

Qualifiers placed:

[WC]Alana Parnaby v [Q]Gabriella Da Silva Fick
[Q]Viktorija Rajicic v [Q]Anne-Marie Medcalf
[Q]Somer Dalla-Bona v Naiktha Bains
Shelby Talcott v [Q]Angelique Svinos
[Q]Tiana Windbuchler v Lizette Cabrera
[6]Olivia Rogowska v [Q]Kanika Vaidya
[2]Priscilla Hon v [Q]Abigail Tere-Apisah

Couldn't be much better I guess. Viki looking good for a R2 against Alison Bai :)
Hon, Rogowska and Cabrera should dispose of the international qualifiers pretty easily you'd think :)

Good to see Ali cruise through 6-2 6-3 :yeah:

Alicia Smith had two SPs against Elie, one at 5-3 and one at 5-4. Now down 6-7 1-4

Kaylah McPhee also lost her 4-2 lead and is now down 4-6 2-4 against Dunne.

Sara Tomic about to flog the pants of Staines, I suspect.

Kait has won the last 5 games now

Good job by both Alicia and Kaylah against some seasoned ITF pros.

Lizette should beat Windblucher quite handily, Tiana has won her last 2 matches in 3rd set t/b's and should be pretty tired.

Last time Abbie played Minokoshi she breadsticked her twice..... will be closer this time.

Liv T wins 6-3 7-5 over Maddison Inglish. Abbie Myers def. Mai Minokoshi 7-5 7-5. Really wasn't expecting much from Abbie.

So a couple of R2 matches are known:

Bai v Rajicic
Cabrera v Dunne

Surely Lizette will be a decent chance after Dunne struggled against McPhee and is about to lose dubs... If Lizette wins that, then an Aussie finalist in the bottom half looks likely, out of Liv T, Liv R, Pri and Lizette.

Clinical from Lizette and Alison

Smith and McPhee  at least they were quite competitive against top seeds

Sara :haha: but Staines :yeah:

LivT :yeah: but Maddy

btw, Sara was supposed to play doubles with Kailtin but they have withdrawn :oh: maybe someone is bitter? :oh:
