Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

Bit depressing day :-(

Monique injures herself and Sophe blows an opportunity to beat a top 100 player. Rolled in with the Liv smashing!!

On the positive side - Alicia must be playing great tennis to beat Olivia and Sophie must be playing good tennis to be almost beating top 70 players! And there is always next week!!

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

Pretty big day today for Aussie tennis with Jelena and Alicia in challenger finals - not to mention Sam in Osaka. Lets hope 3-0 for the day!

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

This definately isn't worth a new thread over so I'll just post it here. Does anyone know anything about Marisa Gianotti? No one talks about her probably because she seems to suck badly. But she's a journeywoman. She's played 23 tournaments so far this year which is more than alot of top 100 players.
Her singles record since December last year is 2 wins and 24 losses. She is currently on an 18 match losing streak.

Certainly alot of potential... not!

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

Poor Marisa has a hard time yes, but she is better than a lot of other girls playing out there. She had a decent ranking there for a while but seems to have competely gone off the boil this year.

Meanwhile, Jade plugging away..

Volos, Greece $10,000 Rnd 1:

Jade HOPPER (AUS) defeated Cristina-Bianca DANAILA (ROU) 6-3 6-3

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

Marissa actually had some wins on the board a year or so ago and was playing semi-decent tennis for an also-ran type of player. However this year she has almost lost all her matches in straight sets. She must have a fair bit of cash though, cos she's been travelling around Europe for months with no wins

If you look at some of her draws........there was a patch there for a couple months where she was losing first round....but the players she was losing too were going on to win the tournament or make the finals!!

Good luck to the West Aussies in 2013!:
Casey Dellacqua Jessica Moore Bojana Bobusic Storm Sanders
as well as Jelena Dokic Sam Stosur Sally Peers Ash Barty Olivia Rogowska Monique Adamczak Sacha Jones Rodionova Sisters Tammi Patterson Vicky Rajicic Azra Hadzic Alison Bai
|
And all the other aussie girls
