Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

Disappointing loss from Sally. Hopefully Izzy takes out the chick that beat her tomorrow.

Alex Nancarrow just had an epic battle in Spain. She finally won her match 6-4 6-7 7-6. A good win as her opponent was ranked higher and Alex saved 4 MPs in the final set - 3 at 5-6 at 1 more in the tiebreak . *but* it should've been much easier as Alex was 6-4 4-0 up at one point! And had 5-1 in the final set tiebreak before losing the next 5 points and then had to save a MP Well done though, she's been doing well lately.

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

Izzy's into the SF in Phuket with a 6-2 7-6 win over the girl who beat Sally yesterday. Izzy also had a nice comeback from 2-5 down in the 2nd set.

Now she's into the SF, does that mean she gets Special Entry into the MD of next week's $15K?

The girls who are collecting WTA points in ITFs in late 2013 are also being very smart. Next year, they're readjusting the points system and there will be fewer points given out. So points that Izzy and Alex etc. earn now will help to inflate their ranking throughout most of 2014

keep on rolling along Issy Ling Zhang next, who similarly to Issy made the top 180 then fell in to oblivion, regardless SF is a good result for her. So there's another one next week? Hopefully she can do well there also and get well inside the top 500.

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

Out of curiosity, why did Izzy Holland just disappear... I mean I always knew she was over-ranked but still...

Estonian Mynx Nettu-GOAT + Lerka + Sonya + Katu + Kaia + Miley + Lissi + Carol

Guardian of the Norr, Slavic and Golden Flower Power GOATs
