Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

Casey won her first round at $50K The Bronx 6-4 6-4 against Aoyama.

Liv plays today I think (US time)

Jess Moore lost in qualifying for the 2nd straight week in a Belgian $25K

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

As I said, we shouldn't be saying that she had 2 wins last week and will have great form now.

She only had a win over BMS (who Rodionova beat 62 62 this week) and is in some rough patches now and Maria Sanchez a college player that has up and down results

+ Chichi had a better week last week.

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

^ In Liv's thread you said Scholl shouldn't be too much of a problem, so which way are you swinging here?

She DID WIN two matches last week. It doesn't matter who she played, but since you're asking, they were two well credentialed players and she made the QF of a $100K by beating them. That is a great result and surely gave her some confidence. I'm not saying that she's now going to end up winning these tournaments, but she's being competitive and getting some wins which is encouraging.

Having said all that, I expected a tough match against Scholl, and am not too surprised by the end result.

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

^^ Agree - saw Chi Chi play during the AO quallies and she's not bad. She's around Liv's level and it was a toss-of-the-coin match I thought.

There's more to life than just being happy.

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

I wouldn't be reading into that win over Mattek-Sands too much, especially when Rodionova whipped her 6-2 6-2 this week, she can't be playing that well. Chi Chi did even better than Olivia anyway at the $100K, so it was always gonna be a tough match.

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

10k Turkey. Abbie Myers is into the Quarterfinals
Won her R1 match 62 64, and won her R2 match 16 60 62. Although she did only beat 2 Qualifiers which isn't so fascinating. She takes on a WC Nikola Vajdova next. This is a good chance for a SF!

At the same tournament Skye Hopper lost R1 61 61
