Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

There are hardly any Aussie girls on the ITF circuit at the moment, but noticed a few good results:

Marisa Gianotti had a good win out of nowhere, beating a seeded player ranked 670 in a $10K in Netherlands.

Stephanie Bengson easily won through qualies again and won a round in the Italian $10K this week.

Karo Wlodarczak got to the QF last week and is in R2 this week in Belgium. She also took out her 3rd doubles title for the year last week and is in the doubles SF this week. She's having a reasonable year.

Oh and Stephanie Bengson is in the doubles final this week. She'll be ranked in singles and doubles after the US Open

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

The Tepper's are playing in Croatia too. Bianca qualified and lost first round and Anneliese won her first round over a seeded player, pretty good win.

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

Go Annaliese! It's remarkable that she's now got 14 WTA points but never got to a QF or got more than 1 WTA point at a single tournament, poor thing. So many Second Rounds but never a QF. Maybe this time!

The Teppers and Marisa Gianotti are also in the doubles SF and Johanna Konta (still playing under AUS) is top seed in Spanish $10K and won her R1 match.

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

^So Annaliese lost in R2 *again*! Haha... poor thing.

Johanna Konta had an amazing run in Spanish $10K last week, winning it and dropping only 13 games in 5 matches.

This week Natalie Barbir and Annaliese Tepper are in the MD in Greek $10K and Bianca Tepper and Marisa Gianotti are in final round of qualies.

Is that all for the OS action this week??

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

Anneliese has won her first match in Antalya 10k over qualifier Chihiro Nunome 26 76(5) 62. she has another shot at a quarter final but it's against the top seed Laura-Ioana Andrei ranked 385. let's hope she can score the biggest win of her career and finally reach a quarter final!!

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

Come on Anneliese. I think she should stoop to poisoning her R2 opponents just so she can finally get to a QF!

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

haha, this thread should just be renamed the Anneliese Tepper Cheering Thread. most of the recent posts in here have been about her and her second round 10k matches!

i wonder why she doesnt try and play some aussie 25k's? a win here would get her 8 points

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

Lauren Breadmore randomly popped up in qualifying for a Spanish $25K this week but lost in the second round quite badly.
