Awesome from Liv, really impressed with that win

4 wins in a row for both girls, good stuff.

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

Casey is used to this level, so her result isn't so surprising, but am really impressed with Liv's results this week in particular

Qualifying for Bastad last month seems to have spurred her on a bit.

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

Liv Was down 0-5 in the first set of her final qualy match against Pliskova and wins 76 61, then she was down 36 3-4 15-40 ... and loses only 1 more game most impressive. Plays Glushko next who seems to be in form beating Fichman easily.

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

I think Izzy got in direct because she's not in qualies.

I'm enjoying seeing Casey winning again. So nice to have her back.

Over in Turkey, that Stephanie Bengson chick just double-bageled someone in qualies. Maybe we've got a new prospect coming through??

Nah, she isn't exactly young. Hopefully she can get a ranking soon, she has been working hard...but I don't see her doing much to be honest.

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

She could be like Scivetti and those other fringe players in their twenties who scrape into the top 500, but I don't see her doing anything bigger than that. She's doing good though and hope she keeps at it

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

That's a pretty poor loss for Casey. Bovina's been having a very bad year.

So who on earth is going to get the US Open WC? I guess Casey, Liv and Sally are the main contenders, but no one's really staked a strong claim for it.

Btw, anyone wanna start a US Open thread so we can discuss it?

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

Bengson also lost her final Q match in Turkey. Alright draws for our girls this week. Liv has a good shot to get a few wins but Sally and Bella will have to lift their games if they want to start posting some decent results at this level. I would like to see both of them drop back to 25K level for a bit.

Samantha Stosur, Daniela Hantuchova, Lucie Safarova

Kim Birrell, Sabine Lisicki, Abbie Myers, Priscilla Hon

Kristina Mladenovic, Heather Watson, Ana Konjuh, Zoe Hives

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

This break for Sally might have been good for her. She was playing the Russian Rodionova and was up 6-2 5-2 before rain set in and she has to complete it tomorrow. She should close it out. Also Izzy was up 6-5 but like Sally has to come back tomorrow.

Re: Aussie in Overseas Challengers

She should absolutely close out that match. Izzy doing well to hang with Glushko who beat Liv easily last week, do we know if she is serving for the set?

Samantha Stosur, Daniela Hantuchova, Lucie Safarova

Kim Birrell, Sabine Lisicki, Abbie Myers, Priscilla Hon

Kristina Mladenovic, Heather Watson, Ana Konjuh, Zoe Hives
