Given that qualifying matches will start at the end of next week, I think we should open the thread :bounce:

This is a general thread of the Aussie results over the summer of tennis!

For Hobart/Sydney week, Jarka is in the Hobart QD, whilst Ajla is in Sydney QD so it seems as though they will get respective MD WCs to these tournaments.

Hon may get Hobart as well? Or Inglis?

Daria isn't in any tournament that week, but I think she will get Sydney WC

With Gavrilova and Gajdosova in HC and Tomljanovic a guaranteed WC into Brisbane, you gotta wonder who else TA are gonna throw under that top 40 bus.

No Dellacqua, Stosur already in MDs, Rodionovas no, Rogowska no, they surely won't put Hon/Inglis/Birrell/Patterson into the draw full of top 40 players only? :scared:

There's almost a 33% chance Hon, Ingis, and Patterson will play a top 40 player first round of the Australian Open, so could be good preparation. Maybe Inglis or Patterson, as Hon being a QLD'er there'll be a lot more media hype. QLD media will likely ignore Inglis/Patterson all together.

Sanders is the only other player I can think of, but maybe QWC for her.

Birrell hasn't been playing, so she's definitely better off with a Q WC

Or there could be another overseas player Australia is trying to woo to become an Aussie.

Now lets all get in a prayer circle and pray that Pri draws Tomljanovic and not Sharapova :scared:

I kind of assumed she had the WC when I saw her tweet something the other day about doing an interview. And I thought what other reason would she be doing one unless she got the Brisbane MDWC. Really happy for her. Hopefully she plays her best and competes well :cheer: :)

I guess this means QWCs will go to Birrel, Inglis, Patterson and either Liv T or Sara?

I'm thinking that Brisbane QWCs could go to Birrell, Patterson, Sanders and Tjandramulia. (Maybe Arina) I have a feeling they might give Maddy Inglis that replacement spot at HC given that she's from Perth.

In Hobart they might give Maddy a chance to shine there.
Which replacement spot?

Didn't Jarka replace Casey?

Hopman Cup always have a few players hanging around and training with the players and they are there to fill in incase someone pulls out.

Eg. this year the players were Mitchell and Matosevic but no women pulled out and in 2014 it was Anderson and Boj.
Moore and Mitchell. Matosevic actually replaced Ebden who replaced Krygios. Mitchell covered Ebden when he was injured and before they flew Matso in. Afaik Moore was there for whole tournie.
