Re: 2015 December Showdown

Win A Wildcard

The 2nd time this event is running. They have playoffs for each state, and the winners of the playoff will contest for a mixed doubles WC in the 2016 Australian Open.

Some State playoffs have already been done and dusted, the winners are Alison Bai/James Frawley (ACT), Catherine Krueger/Edward Bourchier (TAS). The WA one should also be done but no results have been posted. The only notable girl there was Marisa Gianotti.

The VIC ones are happening next week, Sanders/Polmans should sweep that up! Poor Masa probably won't get to defend her title. SA is also next week with Moore/Mousley being the strongest team entered so far.

It's definitely nice to see more competition for this year, players can get a nice paycheck out of this, just gotta see if they're bothered to go through this long process. Can't believe Van Peperzeel/Sumner lost last year

I was talking to Sam Thompson last night. He told me he is eager to play for sure but can't find a partner. I suggested he ask Tammi who is a friend of his already but he thinks she already has a partner. Sam and Masa were great last year and I know Sam charmed quite a lot of people in the Australian tennis community. I will keep you posted if I find out anymore.

Re: 2015 December Showdown

Sam's got lots of options, Peers, Hives, Patterson, Rajicic, Wlodarczak, Aiava

Still can't see anyone beating the Polmans/Sanders team for VIC

Gianotti and her partner Brenton Bacon won the WA one.

Entries wayyyyyyy stronger this year in part due to the fact i would say such a low ranked unknown team won last time. So players keen for such a big opportunity this time knowing the great prize received last time. Masa got weaker doubles partner this time so wont defend.

Are we expecting people to pull out? Definitely stacked this year. There's something in the bananas looking at all those Queenslanders

edit - where are the results/teams for the mixed doubles wc posted?

Sam has just told me that Tammi has a partner already .......Sally will not be in Melbourne but he is going to ask both Destanee and Karolina. He is keen as to play! Thank you all for all these suggestions...I was stuck after Tammi.

Woops I just remembered he can't ask Destanee as you have to be over 16 to enter.

Re: 2015 December Showdown

Really is an amazingly strong 18s lineup. I hope TA can keep their shit together and not fuck up the entire crop.
