Henin vs. Myskina! Predictions, thoughts...

My two favorite players! One will be eliminated but one will make the SF

The first true test of Nastya's Top 10-worthiness... If it were on American hardcourts, I'd say - Nastya. But these hardcourts are not nearly as fast as American hardcourts, so Juju is not that uncomfortable on them.. Close call..

This should be a good match. If Henin is playing well, I think she'll take it. Though, I would not be surprised at all to see Myskina win. She's a very talented player.

Does anyone have their head-to-head stats?

I think Justine will have way to much game for our most fresh faced top tenner. Juju in straights - and to keep the pattern alive, I'll say 7.5 6.2

Go JuJu, so Nastia won't pass Jelena in ranking.

I hope Justine doesn't put too much pressure on herself cuz she's the top seed. Last meeting was won by Myskina 7-6 (2) 6-2, so I think it's going to be a battle...
Justine in three: 4-6 7-5 6-4

C'mon Belgians

Henin in straights. Monica will get back her top ten soon . Then Jelena will fall for Lindsay, and maybe Amelie will fall for Chanda !

Two very simmetrical scores..
Exactly. On slow court Justine's backhand's pace is difficult to handle, while on fast courts ( like in New Haven ) that very backhand becomes a liability. Dubai hardcourt falls somewhere in between, so who knows..

The reason why I think I'm slightly rooting for Nastya is because a win over Justine would allow her to pass an idle Dokic in the rankings (how often can we say "idle Dokic"?). So even if Seles went on to win the title, Nastya would still be guaranteed another week in the Top Ten.

But I do want Justine's confidence and ranking high for the French and Wimbledon, where she contends for titles.

It's a tough match, for prognostication as well as barracking purposes. But better that one of them makes it through than both of them lose, IMO.

Edit: a win tomorrow won't be enough...Nastya would fall 4 points short. So I think I'm now rooting for Justine. Oh, I don't know!

If Justine plays like she did in the last set against Barna she'll win in 2!

Otherwise in three

Go Justine

Roland Garros '03,'05,'06,'07
US Open '03,'07 / Australian Open '04
Olympic Gold '04 /
YEC Madrid '06,'07
41 titles

I hope Anastasia can win this, and keep her momentum going. She is on the rise at the moment, and could just do something good against Justine.

Myskina seems very confident now... she will put Justine into a tough test I believe...

I'll say Myskina winning in 3!!!
