Ana is a 23 y.o. Croatian tennis player with a current (career high) ranking of 193. Her favorite surface is hard, and current year win/loss record is 15-7. She won one singles and two doubles ITF titles, all back in 2003.
This week she plays in the main draw of Zagreb 75k, and her first round opponent is Nina Bratchikova, a 23 y.o. Russian ranked 213 (career high 197). A tough match, but hopefully Ana will find her way to a win.
Ana is having a good week, at the $25K in France. In R1 she beat Razzano (CH #16) and in R2 Coin (CH #60), both in straight sets. In the QF she plays Hogenkamp (#197), so it's a good opportunity for Ana.
In doubles, Ana/Sadikovic are into the SF; they'll play Dinu/Perrin.
Ana will play a qualifier Ishizu (c-h 218, current 371) against whom she never played and I'd really be beyond shocked if Ana would lose this one. Ishizu is a typical overranked Asian player who rarely plays a strong tournament outside of Asia and when she occasionally shows up on 25 and 50k's in Europe or America she usually loses R1 or R2.
In doubles Coin/Vrljic won R1 against Ejdesgaard/Lim 2 & 3. Next up Moore/South.

Ana is still in the States, after last week's appearance (sR1/dQF) in Rancho Santa Fe 25k this week she's playing in Surprise, Arizona also at a 25k. She is seeded #6 in singles and defeated her doubles partner Samantha Murray in R1 6:2, 6:4 to face the winner of Elie/(q) Higuchi next, while in doubles they're the top seeds and defeated Moore/South 6:3, 7:6. For a place in the semis they'll play the qualifiers Kuwata/Tanaka.

Yes that is somewhat odd, since she hasn't done much this year (apart from one 25k final), but the season is still young and after RG, and especially Wimbledon things will probably (unfortunatelly) work themselves out.
A disappointing week for Ana V in Edgbaston. She missed being seeded by one spot so instead of possibly reaching the QF and inching up the rankings further, she lost in R1.
On the other hand, she won (half) the doubles title
