Seriously, the Australia tour might not be the worst idea, it'll give her lots of matches and it's pretty much the only chance for someone with her ranking to get anything done over the winter - and given how (or rather when) her season started she doesn't really need an off season.
No unless she has a massive uptick in her performance and consistency Melbourne is impossible - I think US Open Q is realistic, then she has played a full year.
Lottner already withdrew from 15k Toowoomba :spit:
So yeah, maybe she knows that she gets a Lux WC or she changed her mind and won´t go to Australia at all?
curious where we will see her next
Maybe she has a cat which keeps walking over the keyboard while she's logged into IPIN.
Q WC for Lux would be the most obvious explanation, cut the Australian tour one week short to play there, we'll see if she's entered into the other Aussie events next week (and whether she stays entered into them).
Enjoying some nice dinner in my room after a long day of practise
Next Tournament for me is the WTA in Linz on Saturday!
Leckeres Abendessen im Zimmer nach einem langen Trainingstag
Nächstes Turnier für mich ist das WTA in Linz am Samstag!
Earlier today, I re-read my Prediction for 2014, and I stated the following:
Antonia Lottner #90
Ich glaube, ihre Zeit ist reif. Sie ist unkonstant, aber das Spiel ist da. Wird mit einem richtigen Knallerergebnis Ende der Saison einen großen Sprung nach oben machen.
I guess the time is ripe for her. She's inconsistant, but the game is there. She'll finish the year with a big bang and make a huge jump in the rankings.

But if you look at the points it really does make sense for her to use that WC (Rittner Reichel), the point she gets for qualifying at a 25k she gets in Linz just for showing up, and if she wins QR1 that's already 10 points, to get that at a 25k you need to qualify and win 2 main draw matches.
Would love it if she could end the year with a bang, even if it's just a small one.
The last time, she met Top 100 players, she came back from injury. She wasn't ready back then, but it will be interesting, what she can do now. She gets a point and important experience there. And young players should take those chances. Just look at the young Chinese girl that played Lisicki. She really rose to the occasion. Or look at Alexander Zverev in Hamburg.
Linz Q, not bad, hope she gets Lux Q as well
Good test for Antonia, we shouldn´t and can´t expect too much but maybe she gets lucky with the draws and can surprise with some wins, good luck!!
I must be stupid because I didn't even recognize her. I suppose I have only seen her on-court, so she looked quite different to me. And yes, she's missing that smile.
Also, I haven't seen her play on anything but clay. So this will be interesting for me.

Well she's sitting down so she's not towering over everybody else in the room, that makes her already more difficult to recognize.
I think in Linz even Qualies might be streamed, but don't quote me on that. In general the stream situation at European Internationals is pretty good, but hopefully you'll get to see her rock center court in the main draw.
(3)Kiki Bertens (NED) v Tamira Paszek (AUT)
Katarzyna Piter (POL) v (wc)Julia Grabher (AUT)
Ons Jabeur (TUN) v (wc)Antonia Lottner (GER)
(wc)Anna-Maria Heil (AUT) v (7)Kristyna Pliskova (CZE)
Lotti was down 1*-3, went up 4-3*, had 2 BPs for 5*-3 and of course got broken. Now it's Jabeur serving for the set at 4-5*.
Pretty easy hold by Jabeur. First set is gone. The chance was there against a much higher ranked opponent, to see the positives...
The second set seems like a serve battle so far, but it looks like Toni blinks first, of course again at 4-4
Yep, broken to 0 after 4 very confident service games. I guess that's where she lacks experience. Come on, break back, Lotti.
Jabeur def. Lottner 6-4 6-4
Nothing to be ashamed about. But she had a chance in the first set.
annoying defeat, just not experienced and cool enough yet in the important situations of a match.
Gets broken in 1st set after wasting chances herself, 2nd set gets broken at 4-4 but obviously not a bad scoreline in general.
It will probably look similar in Luxembourg, if she gets the Q WC there, unless she faces some really weak player.
I really hope that she goes to Australia to play some ITFs there, she needs some matches/wins and easy points and Entry Lists there won´t be too strong so Toni should definitely be able to get some wins there and build up her confidence for 2015.
The great positive is that she's absolutely competitive at this level, but she just doesn't reward herself. But it means that her game is there, it's just the execution in those close moments where she struggles.
Agreed with Michael, Australia would be good for her, I hope she goes through with it.
